For the location in Darmstadt, Germany we are looking for an MTG Monitoring Control Subsystem Engineer fm at Eumetsat. Tasks Consultancy support for a satellite Monitoring Control Subsystem MCS Engineer is required as part of the MTG ground segment team. The key person will be organisationally based in the Geostationary Orbit GEO Division as a member of the Mission Operations System team. The Key Person shall perform the following tasks Support to the maintenance of MTG Mission Operations Facility requirement specification in the area of Monitoring Control System and liaison with the operational users for the definition of the requirements baseline Follow up the MTG MCS procurement to make sure that the delivery fits the intended purpose Support the MTG ground segment team, the Mission Operations Facility manager and the ground segment manager Interact with suppliers and partner organisations. Participation to the Reviews for the Monitoring and Control Subsystem and interfacing facilities Preparation of technical notes and attendance at technical meetings Maintenance i.e. mainly configuration and installation of the SCOS 2000 MCS demonstrator installed for familiarisation of the operations preparation team with the Mission Operations Facility MCS Analysis, review and generation of any relevant MTG documentation Maintenance and evolution of Mission Operations Facility Java Eclipse RCP RAP based tools established in the frame of Phase B At a later stage in the programme, these additional tasks may be requested Participation test conduction and or witnessing to MTG Monitoring and Control Subsystem facilities testing and related activities on facility as well as on system level Analysis of test results and test reports on facility as well as on system level in particular with respect to their suitability for requirement verification and validation Installation of the MTG Monitoring and Control Subsystem at EUMETSAT, while fulfilling the configuration management requirements Verification of correct facility installation Monitor and, where applicable, steer the lifecycle for all related anomaly reports ARs nonconformance reports NCRs Preparation and production of routine reports as necessary Essential requirements In addition to having a University degree or equivalent in a relevant discipline, the key person shall have a demonstrated experience of spacecraft andor ground segment procurement. The key person shall have a goal oriented attitude with a good level of communication skills enabling working in a highly flexible integrated team. Furthermore, the key person shall have, as a prerequisite a demonstrated experience of five years in the following Mission Control Subsystem specifications development and or procurement within a space system In depth knowledge of SCOS 2000 based Monitoring and Control Subsystems The ECSS Packet Utilization Standard PUS TM TC Database design, implementation and testing SCOS 2000 based onboard software function AIV related activities test procedure generation, requirements verification and validation Eclipse RCP RAP Java, C and C UNIX operating system usage The key person shall be able to conduct all activities in an orderly and disciplined manner, shall be able to work calmly and correctly under stress and must be able to work with the minimum of supervision.
