Job description For our customer, the European Space Agency ESA, we are seeking an experienced Satellite Navigation GNSS Systems Engineer to work at ESAs ESTEC site in Noordwijk, The Netherlands. Responsibilities You will be assigned to ESAESTECs Galileo project, specifically the G1 System AIV Deployment Service unit within the Directorate of the Galileo Programme and NavigationRelated Activities. Reporting to head of the unit, you will act as Service ContinuityAnomaly Management Engineer responsible for maintaining the System Business Continuity concept and status, providing quick reaction in case changes or anomalies affect the Galileo continuity of service. To meet this a proper follow up and review of the ongoing open anomalies has to be performed continuously. The specific tasks are 1. Anomaly management Attend the weekly Galileo ARBs Anomaly Review Boards organized and chaired by the Galileo operators. Identify any critical anomalies and coordinate internally at ESA ensuring the proper attention. Any critical anomalies posing a risk on the service continuity shall be highlighted and reviewed as part of the Service Continuity Dashboard. 2. Service continuity plan Developing and maintaining the ESA Service Continuity Plan 3. Service continuity dashboard Developing the ESA Service Continuity Dashboard Monitor weekly any critical technical risks ARs, obsolescence, incidents, outages etc. on the operational infrastructure and report this in the service continuity dashboard. 4. Operational processes Contributing to the continuous reviews of the operational process between ESA and GSA i.e. the SOPIs. 5. Asbuilt RAMS Contributing to the Asbuilt RAMS analysis as conducted in cooperation with ESA Product Assurance and presented at the biyearly Service Exploitation Review. This is a fulltime position located at ESTEC, Noordwijk, The Netherlands. The requested start of work is October 2021 or as soon as possible thereafter. Qualifications Competencies The successful candidate shall have A Masters degree in Space Systems Engineering or related subject. At least 4 years of relevant professional work experience, including experience in space operations engineering andor ground segment engineering. Extensive knowledge and experience with satellite navigation. Good knowledge of MS office tools. Desirable Knowledge of PA processes and knowledge of applicable standards e.g. ECSS series. Prior experience with the Galileo project would be a distinct asset. Soft skills Excellent communication skills and professional maturity that is required to carry out complex tasks and high level of responsibility. High senses of rigour and a proactive attitude to solving problems. Service orientation. Organization, good practical sense, being able to work effectively in a team and be able to autonomously take decision in his field of responsibility. Engineering opportunities to join OSM Space Vehicle System Engineer We are a young, Monacobased enterprise in the field of small satellites, with our own production facility and team. We launched our first satellite last year and have additional projects in the pipeline. We are looking for a versatile, embedded electronics engineer with solid experience in small satellites for a fulltime position starting in the next few months. Only candidates from within Europe will be considered. The job is based in the Principality of Monaco, but the candidate may choose to live in nearby France. As a system engineer the candidate will join a collaborative team to develop innovative small satellite nanosatellite solutions for multiple projects. BACKGROUND EUMETSAT is developing the EUMETSAT Polar System of Second Generation EPSSG that includes MetopSG A and MetopSG B satellites developed and procured through ESA. The EPSSG mission will monitor weather and climate from the midmorning polar orbit over a period of 21 years starting in 202425, based on three successive pairs of MetopSG AB satellites. EUMETSAT is also responsible for the delivery to ESAMetopSG of three Infrared Atmospheric Sounding Interferometers New Generation IASING and two ARGOS4 Advanced Data Collection System ADCS instruments developed and procured by the French Space Agency CNES under cooperation agreement with EUMETSAT. Reporting to the EPSSG Instrument Systems Manager, the EPSSG Optical Instrument System Engineer will followup the CNESled development of the IASING and ARGOS4 instruments, acquire, maintain and share inhouse knowledge on instrument design, performances and operations aspects. As a member of the EUMETSAT Instrument Functional Chain Team involving also instrument scientists, system, ground segment and operations preparation engineers, heshe will support the development, operations preparation and commissioning of the endtoend IASING chain covering all functions from instrument commanding to delivery of products to users. DUTIES Act as the EUMETSAT technical interface for the IASING and ARGOS4 instruments liaising externally with CNES and ESA and internally with System, Ground Segment and Science teams. Followup the development of IASING instruments by participating in relevant progress meeting, reviews and other technical meeting with CNES and their contractor.
