One of our space clients based in the UK is looking for a Galileo FOC payload systems engineer. This is a contract position and will involve system level verification modelling and requirements closeout, and presentation of information to stakeholders at all levels, including supplier data review, test results review and analysis anomaly and NRB investigations Support of inorbit test campaign. Key Tasks Responsibilities System level modelling and analysis of navigation system performance Matlab. Customer facing presentation of results, analysis and technical justifications. Support to inorbittesting and validation. Providing inputs into operations. Supplier data review and engineering assessment of RF unit performance and analysis of effects at system level. Assessment of performance including review of payload test results and telemetry, leading anomaly investigations and holding customer reviews Person Specification Qualifications Degree in relevant engineering subject Experience Proven experience in a similar role. Experience in the GNSSGPSGalileo field. Experience with working with an ESA customer or similar institutional customer would be very desirable. Knowledge of satellite production environments and test methods would be desirable. Detailed knowledge of RF systems, key parameters, design drivers and anomaly investigations. An understanding of the effects of RF chain signal generation, frequency conversion, HPA, filters and passives on signal distortions and performance would be desirable. Experience of high accuracy clock design, operation and performance drivers would be an advantageous. Knowledge and Skills Good allround knowledge of RF systems along with Matlab processing and data analysis skills is highly desirable. Excellent customer and supplier interfacing skills are essential for the role. Understanding of satellite navigation modulation schemes would be preferable. General understanding of GNSSGPS Galileo. Essential Attributes Selfdriven approach and ability to work with minimal direction. Ability to work directly with clients, internal and external, at all levels, and to present results, solutions and justifications with authority. Have a flexible, methodical approach to work, combined with drive and determination to complete activities whilst under pressure. Demonstrable attention to detail in ensuring that the system will function as designed. Excellent team working skills, together with the ability to interface with others at all levels. Excellent written or oral communication and presentation skills. Flexibility, and the ability to travel if required may be necessary to support offsite test campaigns and meetings.
