Colorado School earns return trip to National Science Bowl.

Forty-four teams from across the state recently competed for a shot to represent Colorado at the National Science Bowl in April. After a full day answering rapid-fire questions in physics, math, astronomy, chemistry, anthropology, and earth sciences, Ridgeview Classical Charter School from Fort Collins squared off with Boulder Fairview High School. Ridgeview Classical scored a convincing victory over Fairview in the finals to claim the Colorado championship and advance to nationals.

About The Role We now have an excellent opportunity for a talented business development manager to join our dynamic, well developed team within BID, which spans the organisation and generates external income in the most exciting technology development environment in the UK. Focussing on RAL Space, STFCs space science and technology department, this role will support new business opportunities through all stages of development, including the development of new proposals by producing high quality content for identified bids. You will be required to generate win themes that link customer needs with defined benefits of the STFC offering. You will directly support the generation of new opportunities as well as provide handson assistance in the management of complex or intense aspects of the bid process. Client relationship management, both internal and external, is integral to this role as you seek to identify requirements and manage opportunities through to delivery and analysis. The position is based at Harwell but will require travel to other STFC institutions and other locations for conferences and business meetings. About You You will be qualified to at least degree level in science or engineering, with further education in business and project management qualifications advantageous. You will have experience from a scientific or technical research environment, along with experience of technical authoring of successful proposals. You should demonstrate commercial, financial and business acumen, along with an understanding of the basics of sales and marketing. Further knowledge of the spacecraft industry is also beneficial. You will need excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to liaise and build relationships with customers, partners, suppliers and all parts of the organisation.
