Image Quality Assessment Engineer

PROFILE The Engineer shall have a University degree or equivalent in a relevant discipline. The Engineer shall have Extensive theoretical knowledge of Level 1 data processing algorithms for image navigation, registration and calibration and the techniques used for assessing the geometric and radiometric quality of Level 1 image products A minimum of 3 years experience in specifying, prototyping, verifying and validating Level 1 data processing algorithms A minimum of 3 years experience in the processing and analysis of data from imaging andor sounding instruments on remote sensing spacecraft Significant experience of validating remote sensing products and complex remote sensing data processing systems. In addition, the Engineer shall have practical, demonstrable experience inwith Software engineering, in particular in algorithm software development, in a Unix environment using CC, and ideally also Python and MatlabIDL Implementation of scientific algorithms from a given specification. Furthermore, it would be a distinct advantage for the Engineer to have experience with or knowledge of some of the following Spacecraft andor ground segment operations Imaging and sounding instrumentationfor remote sensing spacecraft The Engineer shall be able to conduct all activities in an orderly and disciplined manner, shall be able to work calmly and correctly under stress and must be able to work with the minimum of supervision.
