A vacancy for a Galileo Maintenance Hosting Management Engineer mf has arisen within Airbus Defence Space in Munich. The successful applicant will join Galileo Operations Bid. Please note that the work location will be either in Oberpfaffenhofen, Germany or in Fucino, Italy. The Galileo Global Satellite Navigation System GNSS provides global positioning capability by means of civil unclassified signals for mass market and professional applications as well as classified signals for governmental applications. The Galileo System Infrastructure consists of a globally distributed ground infrastructure connected by a global data dissemination network and a constellation of MEO satellites. The European Commission EC is the owner of Galileo and the infrastructure. The European GNSS Agency GSA on behalf of the EC subcontracts the Galileo Service Operation. The Galileo Service Operator GSOp has the responsibility to operate the Galileo infrastructure, to maintain the Galileo infrastructure, to monitor and manage system security, and to accommodate system upgrades and evolutions. Airbus Defence and Space has identified the GSOp tender as a key opportunity and is producing the Best and Final Offer by mid of August. We are intending to win it and preparing a very strong team across all our entities and sites combining leadership, service driven business and technical expertise. Your main tasks and responsibilities will include Ensuring that maintenance activities at the Galileo Control Centre are performed in accordance with the relevant procedures Ensuring maintenance tools are themselves maintained and have all necessary operating licenses Liaising with L1 Maintenance teams and local Engineering Support Teams Owning all maintenance activities and issues and ensuring that they are effectively performed resolved by the relevant L1L2L3 organisations Coordinating and planning maintenance activities and ensuring that they are included in the long, medium short term planning as appropriate Producing Key Performance Indicators related to maintenance Escalating maintenance issues affecting to senior GSOp management Identifying improvements to maintenance processes and procedures Ensuring that maintenance records are maintained Interfacing and liaising with the Galileo Control Centre Hosting Entity Monitoring the services provided by the Hosting Entity and ensuring that they are in accordance with the agreed interface specifications and service levels Liaising with the Hosting Entity to resolve any onsite hosting issues Evaluating hosting related KPI data We are looking for candidates with the following skills and experience Educated to degree level in Engineering, General Engineering or similar Experience in maintenance activities at a Control Centre Experience in Galileo programme and in GNSS related GNSS based services Good communications skills Good organisational skills Wide systems knowledge Good decision making ability Negotiation level in English knowledge of German andor Italian would be a plus Please apply for this vacancy at our careers site www.jobs.airbusgroup.com with your CV attached.
