We are looking for a Quality Assurance Engineer to join us. You will work with all parts of our organisation, engaging our teams to embed quality into everything we do. You will have the capability to run training sessions, when required. Along with a degree or equivalent, in computer science or engineering, you will be able to demonstrate that you have the skills and experience in the following areas experience of working in an environment where you have introduced quality assurance processes experience of using quality assurance to bring about business improvement an ability to apply excellent interpersonal and communication skills to engage your colleagues a qualification in quality control would be an advantage, but is not essential In addition to an attractive salary and benefits package, EUMETSAT provides an outstanding working environment in Darmstadt, the City of Science. Product Assurance Engineer

The successful applicant will demonstrate the following skills and experience Previous experience in similar position Knowledge of ISO 9001 and EN 9100 standards Good communication skills, fluent English Knowledge of Product Assurance requirements for Space application, including electronics assembly is greatly appreciated Key Responsibilities Implementation of a product assurance plan on project basis Partecipation into design reviews and inspections point Ensuring that the quality requirements included within the Project Statement Of Work are taken into account Proactively seek to ensure that preventive actions are taken account of for known quality issues thus avoiding repetitive problems Negotiating with external Customers and suppliers regarding quality standardsrequirements, waivers, deviations, etc. Will act where necessary as a single point contact for the resolution of all quality matters and ensure the inputs of Materials Engineering, EEE parts and other specialist disciplines are taken account of Reviewing Company Standards and proposing changes where necessary to update working processes and to ensure that all equipment documents and drawings are signed by the relevant disciplines before signing and approving them for the configuration Control Board CCB to know they have been checked and approved by PA for all quality aspects To maintain within the project adequate records to ensure that easy reference is available for monitoring past and present procedural or technical problems To undertake audits which assess whether all quality requirements have been addressed and have been or planned to be incorporated into the design solution. Random projectproduct audits will also be conducted to establish optimization of processes and systems Support to all disciplines in the creation of suitable, useful metrics, to measure effectiveness and to form a basis of improvement activities participating into Non Conformance Review Boards NRB and addressing the curative and corrective actions required To perform other duties as requested by the head of quality.

Software Product Assurance Engineer

Specific Tasks Contribute to the establishing of the programmatic and technical software PA requirements within the framework of the ESA Software policy. Evaluate Contractors plans, technical specifications and efforts proposed for the execution of the SW PA programme. Monitor and evaluate SW PA analyses, reports and technical notes. Participate to project reviews, meetings, Configuration Control Boards, Nonconformance Review Boards and Software Review Boards. Prepare design tradeoffs, analyses and reports using metrics to support project decisions. Participate to software product evaluations and process assessments. Establish and maintain databases to track NCRs, RFWs, action items etc. as required. Requirements Masters degree in software engineering or computer science with background on space Relevant professional work experience. Familiarity with space product assurance practices together with a good working knowledge of appropriate working tools. Practical experience in applying ECSS SW standards. Knowledge and proven experience in the following areas Configuration management of complex systems. Software engineering and PA in critical applications. Deadline 01082017
