Job profile Depending on the qualification, the postholder will perform following items 14, or lead 12 4, or partly 14 23 1. Product Assurance on project level 2. Quality Assurance on company level including lead of internalexternal PAQA staff 3. Quality Management System 4. Technical Support in RD projects. The focus of the respective products and developments is in the area of reflector antennas, lightweight structures, deployable structures, thermal hardware such as multilayer insulation for space applications. The main tasks of the post include the following Project Product Assurance Lead, planning and conductance of PAQA tasks dedicated to a specific project Definition of subcontractor and supplier PA tasks, supplier evaluation Control of subcontractor and supplier PA and monitoring of procurement activities Material, parts and processes assurance internalexternal Definition and coordination of inspection program Planning and conductance of MIPS and KIPS Analysis of request for proposals and preparation of such w.r.t. PA activities Identifying critical development problems and trace their resolution Supervision of material characterization campaigns up to subsystem level test campaigns Evaluation of test results and elaboration of conclusions, definition of consequences Monitoring of qualification status Nonconformance control, reporting, processing and management same for RFWRFD Preparation of project PA documentation e.g. PA Plan, Cleanliness Control, Plan, etc Review and signature of project documents Configuration management and control. Company Quality Manager Control of conformance of work with companys quality management system Control, coordination and support of PA and inspection personnel Toplevel monitoring of RD and project activities Control and management of corrective and preventive actions on company level Control the status and effectiveness of the lessons learnt process and database Check calibration status of equipment, tools, facilities Planning and performance of internal and external audits Staff training on quality management system. Technical Support for Research Development Projects Investigation of specific technical subjects and challenges in the area of materials, coatings, space environment like radiation and EMC, testing, process definition, etc. Technical support to project team to find solutions Technical shadow engineering to subcontractorsupplier materials and products Supplier research and database maintenance support Elaboration of respective documentation. Qualifications Applicants should have as a minimum More than 5 years of experience in QAPA jobs Technical background in at least one of the following disciplines lightweight structures, CFRP composite structures, deployable structures, antennas, thermal subsystems Experienced in as much as possible of the following items material qualification processes, radiation effects and analysis, space debris, thruster impacts, reliability analysis, FMECAFMEA, REACH. Constructive ideas for failure detection and systematic approach to manage NCs Knowledge in space flight hardware projects Knowledge about ESA ECSS standards Very good knowledge in English writing and speaking MS office SW tools minimum MS Word, MS Excel, Power Point, MS Project. University degree. An asset would be knowledge in items like spacecraft and payload structures, CFRP materials, reflector antennas, optical structures, multilayer insulation, radiators, electronic housings, electronics, MGSE, mechanisms, coating, 3D printing, structural design and analysis, thermal design and analysis, kinematic analysis, radiation analysis, production, assembly, alignment, material characterization, environmental testing static, dynamic, thermal, thermoelastic, acoustic, metrology, document management, configuration management, contacts in space community. Candidates should have the ability to deal with customers, subcontractors, partner companies and internal staff via excellent soft skills like constructive criticism, insistence, authority, diplomacy and representatively. Especially in this position candidates should have the ability to work autonomously, effectively and cooperatively in a diverse and international team environment and to define and implement solutions in line with team and individual objectives and project deadlines. In addition, candidates should have good analytical and reporting skills, a proactive attitude to solving problems. Last but not least a high interest in creation and implementation of innovative technologies should be present. Herhis tasks will be allocated in support of the MTG Ground Segment activities, including Ground Segment and System IVV, monitoring of IVV QA related activities and witnessing tests of facilities, in accordance with the plan and priorities assigned by the GEO QA Manager and the MTG GS QA Engineer. Provide proactive suggestions for process improvement, based on these metrics and other observations Work with and in support of the MTG Teams, in order to ensure that Quality Assurance policies and methods are taken into account during all phases Contribute to the production of the documents relevant to the performed tasks Critically review technical and management documents issued in support to the MTG Ground Segment and System IVV activities Support, acting when required as Review secretary, the Programme Reviews and Check Points planned for the MTG programme, ensuring that the relevant Organisation Note arrangements are correctly implemented, and that the Review support tool to be used for the Reviews is available Support the MTG GS Facilities procurement activities and the connected processes ensuring that the QA requirements related to IVV are implemented correctly Monitor implementation of the agreed QA Plans and procedures within the Industry and others Organisations ESA activities, including their Subtiers Provide specific QA support to the MTG IVV Integration, Verification, Validation activities focussed on MTG GS, including witnessing of tests, review of verification records, support TRRTRB, ARB and other relevant IVV related processes according to the applicable working practices Coordinate the anomaly and nonconformances reviews process in the assigned areas If so required and agreed support the preparation and conduct of QA audits on Industry and within EUMETSAT in the areas connected with MTG GS activities, in line with the MTG GS Contractors Suppliers Quality Assurance Audit Plan Provide regular reporting to the MTG QA Management and to the MTG Management Attend and support the weekly GEO QA Team coordination meetings. Ideal candidate Essentials The candidate is required to have the skills, capability and experience level adequate to ensure the fulfilment of the tasks indicated above with a high degree of autonomy. A University degree in Engineering, Physics, Computer Sciences or a related discipline is required. The candidate shall have at least 5 years of specific work experience in the ProductQuality Assurance area in AerospaceSpace Programmes, and have good interpersonal and mediation skills. Specific experience on PAQA processes on satellite Ground Segments, satellite Mission Control and Operations, and on Satellite data processing will be considered an advantage. Candidates having matured significant work experience in other fields, on complex products with elevated technical contents will also be considered. For the fulfilment of the tasks listed above, candidates shall be in possession of the following mandatory skills Significant handson experience in PAQA processes definition, implementation and effectiveness monitoring Knowledge and application of aerospacespace PAQA and ISO 9001 standards Multiyear experience in the implementation of QA policies and methods in procurement contracts for complex products such as ground segment systems Experience in providing QA support to complex SW products throughout their complete development lifecycle, following Software QA standards Experience on Hardware HW Software SW products integration and verification Capability of understanding technicalities and design methods in the area of satellite ground segment , operations, mission control and data processing Significant handson experience in using Microsoft Office Suite and in particular with Microsoft Word, Excel and Access Capability of producing and releasing in autonomy minutes of meetings and QA reports Experience in application of risk management and lessons learned processes Good interpersonal and mediation skills. Desirables The following skills are considered an advantage Experience in conducting internalexternal QA audits Experience of working in international programmes Knowledge of requirement management tools, e.g. DOORS.
