Fleet Tracking System offers satellite communications option.
2013-11-13 14:32:33| Industrial Newsroom - All News for Today
With satellite communications option, OnlineAVL2 Fleet Tracking Platform provides continuous visibility of heavy equipment and on-road vehicles, even when assets are out of cellular coverage. Satellite connectivity is provided via small modem that plugs into serial port on Qube on-highway and/or ruggedized Qtanium off-highway GPS tracking devices. Users can limit satellite transmissions to priority events and delay transfer of low-priority event data until cellular coverage is restored. Ars Technica: NASA has announced a partnership with Amazon Web Services that the agency hopes will spark wider collaboration on climate research. In an effort that is in some ways parallel to Google's Earth Engine, NASA has uploaded terabytes of data to Amazon's public cloud and made it available to the anyone. Three data sets are already up at Amazon. Space Agency: Pay No Attention to That Plummeting Satellite
2013-11-11 19:11:24| TechNewsWorld
The European Space Agency has predicted that when its fuel-less, earthbound, 2,000-pound research satellite crashes, it will likely crash into the ocean or polar regions. The satellite was expected to crash down some time on Sunday or Monday, according to the agency, which added, "with a very high probability, a re-entry over Europe can be excluded." Good news for Europeans, bad news for polar bears.
