Nike predicts 40% boost in women's sales in the next 2 years

Nike expects its women's footwear and apparel sales to grow 40 percent over the next two years, from $5 billion to $7 billion, company officials said at an event Wednesday in New York City. Nike chief executive Mark Parker made the projection during his presentation at the event to unveil the company's spring/summer 2015 women's collections.
FedEx predicts increase in holiday deliveries

The company forecast Wednesday that deliveries between Thanksgiving and Christmas Eve will rise 8.8 percent over last year, to 290 million shipments. That's a more subdued forecast than a year ago, when FedEx predicted 13 percent growth for the season.

Foreign institutional investors are spending heavily on U.S. assets this year, revealed JLLs global capital markets experts at the Urban Land Institutes (ULI) fall meeting, currently underway at New Yorks Javits Center. In fact, the inflow of foreign capital is so strong that JLL is raising its predictions on foreign investment into the United States for 2014, and is now forecasting nearly $50 billion, up from $38.7 billion in 2013. read more

Utility predicts lower natural gas prices in SC

Officials with Piedmont Natural Gas say they expect a milder winter this year and think natural gas bills will average $12 less a month for the company's typical South Carolina residential customer. The Greenville News reported that the Charlotte, North Carolina, utility says this year's forecast for November through March is very different from last season, when temperatures were about 10 percent colder than usual.
