Microsoft launches network of Azure providers

Microsoft has launched the Cloud OS Network, a global consortium of cloud service providers that offer Windows Azure IaaS (infrastructure-as-a-service). More than 25 providers have signed up for the network for its initial launch, including Capgemini, Capita IT Services of Glasgow, CGI, Computer Sciences Corporation, Dimension Data of Australia, DorukNet of Turkey, Fujitsu Finland, iWeb of Montreal, and Lenovo in China.

Microsoft adds load balancing as Azure availability stutters

Microsoft offers Equinix customers private Azure access

Microsoft will soon allow customers of Internet business exchange (IBX) provider Equinix to directly connect servers into the Windows Azure network, which could speed throughput of hybrid cloud applications. Equinix has a number of customers who don't want to use the Internet to access Azure, said Chris Sharp, Equinix general manager for cloud services. "They want high-throughput, LAN-centered connectivity," he said.
