You will join a team of GNCAOCS analysts to work on current and future space missions. The job includes the design, analysis and test support activities associated with the development of a GNCAOCS system for space applications. The department provides the GNCAOCS engineering design, analysis and support to a number of large ESA projects being conducted at Airbus DS Ltd. Stevenage, including Solar Orbiter observing the Suns heliosphere and solar wind, LISA Pathfinder paving the way for the LISA mission by testing in space the very concept of gravitational wave detection, PLATO detecting extrasolar planetary systems, and ExoMars Rover a mission to land and operate an autonomous rover vehicle on Mars. The department also leads a number of technology RD studies both internal and external in the areas of advanced GNC and robotics. Your main tasks and responsibilities will include You will be expected to perform GNCAOCS design and analysis activities through the full engineering lifecycle from initial concept design through to support to validation, producing the associated documentation design justifications, SW requirements for GNCAOCS algorithms, performance analysis documentation etc. and being able to develop SW to a prototype level nonreal time simulator development under CMatlab. We are looking for candidates with the following skills and experience Good degree or equivalent in a numerate discipline with some relevance to the space industry Qualifications with Dynamics and Control Engineering content Higher degree with specialisation in robotics would be highly beneficial Matlab and Simulink experience Space industry experience including AOCSGNC or roboticsautomation Mathematical modelling Computer simulations Software development in C or C General computer literacy, including MS Office Excellent written and verbal communication skills The ability to interact comfortably within a team environment. This role will include internal studies, technology developments or full subsystem development in ESA programmes. Job Description Analysis and modelling of aerospace dynamic systems satellites, planetary probes and atmospheric vehicles. Design, development and use of dynamic simulators for GNCAOCS Guidance, Navigation Control Attitude Orbit Control Systems. Design and analysis of guidance and navigation algorithms, control laws and logic, state machines and FDIR Fault Detection, Identification Recovery. Algorithm prototyping and integration in dynamic simulator. Algorithms performance assessment by simulation and analysis. Contribution to the specification, selection and technical support to the procurement of GNCAOCS equipment. Participation in the integration, test and validation of GNCAOCS systems in functional and realtime simulation environments. An idea background would be a Aerospace Engineer, Control Engineer Note Solid mathematical foundation and excellent knowledge of aerospace vehicle dynamics numerical methods, linear and rotational mechanics, orbital mechanics. Good knowledge of control analysis and design theory, both classical and modern e.g. robust control techniques, good knowledge of estimation and filtering theory. Experience required Aerospace GNCAOCS related projects, preferably in the ESA environment. Application of ESA ECSS standards ECSSE60 and ECSSE40. Must have at least three years experience. Experience with the C programming language would be appreciated. Word, Excel and MatlabSimulink.

This is a Senior engineer for their GNCAOCS projects involving internal studies, technology developments or full subsystem development within ESA programmes. Job Description Architectural design and tradeoff analyses of GNCAOCS subsystems Guidance, Navigation Control Attitude Orbit Control Systems. When applicable, interaction with the System TeamCustomer for the definition of GNCAOCS needs and subsystem specification, and support to key decisions at system level. Systems engineering activities design development management, requirements management, system budgets definition and control, interfaces control, performance assessment, verification and validation, etc. Design and analysis of GNC modes and transition logic. Definition of performance requirements and specification of the onboard GNC functions dynamical states estimation, position and attitude guidance and control, and technical management of their development. Design and analysis of GNCAOCS subsystem FDIR Fault Detection, Identification Recovery. Specification, selection and support to the procurement of GNCAOCS equipment. Coordination of the integration, test and validation of GNCAOCS subsystem in functional and realtime simulation environments. Coordination and technical management of a GNCAOCS development team. Our client is looking for an Aerospace Engineer, Control Engineer Note Solid mathematical foundation and excellent knowledge of aerospace vehicle dynamics numerical methods, linear and rotational mechanics, orbital mechanics and flight mechanics. Good knowledge of control analysis and design theory, both classical and modern e.g. robust control techniques and good knowledge of estimation and filtering theory. A PhD degree would be a plus but it is not required. Experience required Aerospace GNCAOCS projects covering the whole development process, from preliminary design to validation, preferably in the ESA environment from phase B to CD. Application of applicable ESA ECSS standards, both technical and management.
