Assistant IM IT Technician is required to assist the IM team with the deployment and ongoing support of IT services, including installation and configuration, fault resolution, desktop imaging and security management. You will be working on the Airbus Defence and Space site in Stevenage, within a backoffice role communicating with internal customers, this is not a helpdesk role. The role provides the opportunity to develop skills in delivering IT services, using current technologies along with scope for training and development in future IT technologies. Ideally you will have previous experience in a fast paced support environment within a service management framework. The successful candidate will need to gain UK Security Clearance in order to undertake related work in accordance with business needs. As an Assistant IM IT Technician your main duties will be Supporting network devices and technologies used in service delivery WiFi devices, firewall and IPS, packet shaping, switches routers Cisco and HP, Radius and Active Directory authentication, etc. Using CRM systems for tracking, resolving and implementing faults and requests within defined SLAs. Responsibility for the image build and security patching of all fixed PC infrastructure. Responsibility for building and imaging engineering laptops. Supporting High Integrity Telecommunications System HITS end user devices. Troubleshooting end user device problems and backoffice infrastructure support Working within a service desk environment this role is not a helpdesk call centre roleTo be successful for the Assistant IM IT Technician role, you need to have the following skills and experience Basic networking skills Analytical Apply an analytical approach with particular attention to detail Driven Personally motivated to deliver. Can work independently to set objectives, quality, standards and deadlines Communication Excellent customer facing, communications and interpersonal skills. Consistent ability to communicate effectively, formally and informally, with colleagues Authentication services Radius, Active Directory AD Desktop imaging and deployment tools SQL Server Database understanding Any of the following skills are desirable and NOT essential as training will be provided Knowledge of WiFi management and deployment tools WiFi Security Managing Microsoft Active Directory AD services Understanding of network protocols SMTP, HTTP, etc. Use of remote support and diagnostic tools RDP, MSC, etc. Airbus is committed to achieving workforce diversity and creating an inclusive working environment.
