000 ABNT20 KNHC 082334 TWOAT Tropical Weather Outlook NWS National Hurricane Center Miami FL 800 PM EDT Sun Oct 8 2017 For the North Atlantic...Caribbean Sea and the Gulf of Mexico: The NOAA Weather Prediction Center is issuing advisories on Tropical Depression Nate, located over central Tennessee. A well-defined low pressure system is located over the subtropical Atlantic Ocean about 800 miles southwest of the Azores. Although the low is being affected by strong upper-level winds, shower and thunderstorm activity has become a little better organized, developing closer to the center of circulation since earlier this afternoon. In addition, satellite-derived wind data from this morning indicated that the low was producing a small area of gale-force winds to the north of the center. Upper-level winds are not expected to become more conducive for development until mid-week, but a tropical or subtropical cyclone could form at any time if the shower activity persists near the center. The low is forecast to drift northward on Monday and then move slowly toward the east-southeast through the middle of the week. Additional information on this system can be found in high seas forecasts issued by the National Weather Service. * Formation chance through 48 hours...high...70 percent. * Formation chance through 5 days...high...70 percent. && High Seas Forecasts issued by the National Weather Service can be found under AWIPS header NFDHSFAT1 and WMO header FZNT01 KWBC. $$ Forecaster Berg
