ROLE DESCRIPTION SUMMARY As the Engineer, Satcom Operations you will be working in the Operations Services Engineering group and will be responsible for the implementation and operational support of cuttingedge global products and services. The engineer will gain a broad knowledge of the SES product range as well as SES global core infrastructure. The primary objective of this role is to ensure SESs customers are provided the highest quality service throughout their lifecycle. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES KEY RESULTS AREAS Work efficiently as part of a Global multidisciplinary team, utilizing Follow the Sun methodology Responsible for SES Networks Core infrastructure operation and enhancement Configuration, testing implementation of SES Products Participate in lifecycle of a customer project, Post Sales through to Customer Acceptance Liaise with customers and support the integration of SES products with their infrastructure Interact with other operational groups and support coordination of projects Adhere to delivery schedules and manage time accordingly Audit and assess end to end network against customer service requirements and best practices Support Incident Management in line with Company defined ITIL processes Provide Level 3 support for Network Operations Centre Development of technical support documentation for the Network Operations Centre Accountable for baseband training given to the Network Operations Centre Work with Engineering Product Development Teams and support the growth of the SES portfolio Interact with vendors to resolve problems and bugs, perform handson testing and troubleshooting Development of internal technical support documentation and procedures Responsible for administration of monitoring tools to support customer solutions COMPETENCIES Collaboration Proactive Problem Solving Customer service Performance Under pressure QUALIFICATIONS EXPERIENCE REQUIRED Solid working knowledge of Satellite Communications Baseband, Network Management, and Modem systems equipment Minimum 5 years of experience in the satellite or telecommunications industry Experience in developing andor maintaining satellite terminal or telecommunications systems Experience troubleshooting, operating, and maintaining local and remote baseband, IF, RF, antennas, and WANLAN equipment Willingness to travel internationally 10 of the time PREFERRED Good understanding of GEO, MEO, and LEO satellite technologies and systems Experience with Unix Linux systems administration, scripting automation Experience of integrating communication systems with multiple vendor components Experience with physical design best practices, e.g., rack installation, cabling and management Experience of dealing directly with customers and understand how to manage expectations Working knowledge of IP routing and networking Apply HERE
