PTA prices have rapidly fallen in the last days China, after previously surging for about two weeks. The polyester chain is now experiencing extreme volatility triggered by sudden rise in operating rates, followed by a sharp increase of inventory levels. Our weekly report covers the polyester chain in Asia, including PX (paraxylene), PTA (purified terephthalic acid), MEG (mono-ethylene glycol), polyester chips, and polyester staple and filament prices.
