About us The European GNSS Agency GSA is responsible for the operations and service provision for the European Global Navigation Satellite Systems GNSS EGNOS and Galileo. By developing a new generation of GNSS, Europe is laying the foundation for new hightechnology industry development, leading to job creation and economic growth. About the Department The Galileo Services Department is in charge of managing the exploitation phases of the Galileo Programme. The exploitation phase started with the provision of the socalled Initial Services in 2016, followed by the Galileo Systems infrastructure transferred from European Space Agency to the GSA through EC mid2017, being directly managed by the GSA. Manage the execution of the Galileo exploitation phase in compliance with the European Commission EC GSA delegation agreements, controlling the associated schedule, costs and risks Manage the Galileo infrastructure operations, maintenance, protection, ongoing improvement and evolutions activities, through associated contracts andor working arrangements Liaise with the GSA Market Development Department for the services adoption and continuous improvement of the Galileo use Liaise with the GSA Security Department and Security Accreditation Board for ensuring the accreditation of the Galileo systems and services Liaise with the EC and ESA for all matters dealing with the Galileo exploitationrelated activities Liaise with the relevant authorities to ensure certification of the Galileo systems and services Tasks and Responsibilities Heshe will have the following nonexhaustive list of tasks and responsibilities Participating in the daybyday coordination of Galileo Operations and L1 maintenance activities and its evolutions as part of the future Galileo Services Operations GSOp contract management team Ensuring the technical interface with the European Space Agency ESA and industry in relation to all Operations and L1 maintenance aspects Actively participating in the conduct of operation assessing in case of contingencies Ensuring the operational readiness of both ground and space segments Monitoring operations activities, such as followup on the performance of routine or special operations in relation to Ground or Space Segment Coordinating the review of the operationsrelated plans, procedures and reports, identifying and monitoring deviations and impact on other activities Managing the strategic and operational planning processes Supporting the Galileo Service Provision Manager for any topics related to Galileo operations Minimum Qualifications 1 A level of education which corresponds to completed university studies1 attested by a diploma when the normal period of university education is four years or more OR A level of education which corresponds to completed university studies attested by a diploma and at least one year of appropriate professional experience when the normal period of university education is three years 2 In addition to the above, appropriate professional experience2 of at least nine years 3 Be a national of a Member State of the European Union or Norway 4 Be entitled to his or her full rights as citizen 5 Have fulfilled any obligations imposed by the applicable laws concerning military service 6 Meet the character requirements for the duties involved3 7 Have a thorough knowledge of one of the languages of the European Union4 and a satisfactory knowledge of another language of the European Union to the extent necessary for the performance of hisher duties 8 Be physically fit to perform the duties linked to the post5 Application procedure In order to consider your application valid, you are required to fill in and submit the GSA application form, which can be found on our website httpswww.gsa.europa.eugsajobsopportunities. Where additional periods of training and study are accompanied by periods of professional activity, only the latter shall be considered as professional experience. Compulsory military service or equivalent civilian service accomplished after achieving the minimum qualification stated in A.1. will be taken into consideration. Internships will be taken into consideration if they are paid. Professional activities pursued parttime shall be calculated pro rata, on the basis of the percentage of fulltime hours worked.
