XMM Integral Data Handling Engineer MF Telespazio VEGA Deutschland has been supporting the European Space Industry for over 30 years, including ESA, DLR, EUMETSAT and CNES. This is a regular opportunity for experienced Engineers to work in the domain of satellite operations operations preparations either in our premises in Darmstadt. This position is part of a Spacecraft Operations Engineering service to be provided for astronomy and fundamental physics missions operated by ESOC. The service will be delivered to the XMMNewton and INTEGRAL missions primarily in the first instance, but with the possibility of supporting other missions within the Astronomy and Fundamental Physics Missions Division at a later stage of the service provision. RESPONSIBILITIESDUTIES The primary areas of responsibility for this service are to support the Spacecraft Operations Managers in the development of operations procedures for onboard thermal control of the platform and instruments, deorbiting, mission control system and simulator migration and automation activities. The selected engineer will be required to familiarise himselfherself with the missions heshe is supporting and in particular with the procedures, ground segment and its tools that are needed to perform the mission operations in detail Knowledge of spacecraft subsystems and operations i.e. OBDH, PowerThermal, propulsion system, instruments Knowledge of SCOS and procedure generation tools is desired, where experience of XMM Integral specific tools FOP tool, FOPGEN, MOIS, Operational Simulator, MCS, Database, Mission planning would be an asset. Previous spacecraft operations experience is highly desirable Experience of OBDHOBSM is desirable. good communication skills and proven ability to work within a team are mandatory a good knowledge of the English language is mandatory QUALIFICATIONSEXPERIENCE A degree qualified Operations Engineer with OBDHOBSM experience to join the existing Telespazio VEGA operations team at ESOC. Key personnel should have basic knowledge of all spacecraft subsystems and a detailed knowledge of at least one of the following subjects Data Handling subsystem Communications, Power Thermal subsystems Attitude Orbit Control subsystem. Experience in ESOC spacecraft operations and the ground segment components necessary for spacecraft operations is considered desirable.
