China Apparel Exports in 1st Quarter 2019 (Quaterly Report)

China's apparel exports have declined in the first quarter this year in volume terms, more significantly falling to Germany and the U.K. but slightly rising to the US market. Exports in value terms have more clearly declined due to a fall of unit values after the renminbi has dropped vs the dollar. Chinese results have been very different depending on destinations and products, as reflected by our new quarterly report. Our statistical series provide a comprehensive picture of China's clothing exports in 1st quarter 2015-2019, including volume, value and unit value changes per destination. Market shares are also available with a series of indices offering a 4-year approach. Knit, woven and total apparel exports are separately displayed. All data are available for download.

China Yarn Prices: Domestic and Import Markets (Weekly Report)

Spun yarn prices have stopped falling in China after cotton and polyester prices have begun bottoming out a few days ago. Production levels have sharply fallen amid rising inventories, however, with nearly all spinning mills currently losing money. Our weekly report covers the China yarn domestic and import market indicators, as well as local market prices in Qianqing (Zhejiang). Prices of a large number of counts are released for spun cotton, polyester, viscose, and blends. Import prices are also available for cotton yarns. Domestic and import yarn prices are compared. U.S. Apparel Imports from Central America, the Dominican Republic, and Haiti (Quarterly Report)

US apparel imports from Central America and the Dominican Republic have slowed down in the first quarter of 2019 whereas Haitian shipments were still surging, however from lower levels. Unit prices have soared in Honduras and Nicaragua, probably due to the rise of cotton prices in the last year. Thanks to their duty-free access, CAFTA-DR countries continue having a marketing niche in the US market with their knit shirts. as reflected by our series of tables and charts displaying a comprehensive view of the US apparel imports from Haiti and the CAFTA-DR (Honduras, El Salvador, Nicaragua, Guatemala, and the Dominican Republic) in the past five years.

E.U. Clothing Imports: Latest and Long-Term Trends (Monthly Report)

EU's clothing imports have returned to positive territory in volume terms in April, however confirming the long-term slowdown already observed in the previous month. The fall of the euro from a year earlier has further depressed demand, as unit values were surging in euro terms, although unchanged in dollar terms. Imports from Bangladesh have hardly increased in April. Our report covers monthly EU clothing import data, with historical trends being analyzed, and a specific focus on China vs Rest of World (RoW) and Bangladesh, and on knit vs woven clothing. Data are supplied in euro and in US dollars with historical data available for download, back to January 2000.
