Polyester Fiber and Filament Yarn Prices in China (Weekly Report)

Polyester prices have slightly declined in the last days in China, over lower material costs. Seasonal demand should support prices in the coming period, however. Our weekly report covers the Polyester Staple Fiber (PSF) and Polyester Filament Yarn (PFY) prices on the domestic market, including a price comparison of polyester staple fibers with cotton and viscose. The gross margin of polyester spun yarn producers is also released.

Inflation in Emerging Countries (Monthly Report)

The inflation rate has further fallen in January in India, possibly due to an economic slowdown triggered by the demonetization process. In other apparel exporting countries like Turkey or even Vietnam, consumer prices have more sharply increased in the last months, meaning that labor costs could be raised. Our monthly report offers a comparison of inflation rates in low-cost countries, with historical data available back to June 2007. Impact of currency changes vs the US dollar, the euro and the Sterling is also calculated to assess real terms of trade for exporters.

China Yarn Prices: Domestic and Import Markets (Weekly Report)

Yarn import prices were Tuesday rising in China after declining in the last ten days by contrast. Spun polyester prices are now dropping after February average prices have however increased, as reflected by our monthly data. China's yarn imports from India have surged in January, according to Chinese customs. Our weekly report covers the China yarn domestic and import market indicators, as well as local market prices in Qianqing (Zhejiang). Prices of a large number of counts are released for spun cotton, polyester, viscose and blends. Import prices are also available for yarns from India, Indonesia, Pakistan, and Vietnam. Domestic and import yarn prices are compared. All data are available for download.

EU Clothing Imports in 4th Quarter and Full 2016: Categories (Quarterly Report)

EU clothing imports have recovered in full 2016, with sharp differences amid product categories. Unit prices have similarly moved very differently, depending on HS 4-digit categories. Over the last five years, unit values have risen in euro terms whereas sharply falling in dollar terms, as reflected by our report. Statistical tables are published with volume, value and unit value changes in euro and US$ terms, covering 61 and 62 HS chapters (knit and woven clothing). The full table is also available for download with historical data from third quarter 2011.

Polyester Chain Prices: PX, PTA, MEG and Fiber Prices (Weekly Report)

PTA and MEG prices have declined in the last week, but they are not expected sharply falling in the coming period. Paraxylene producers have even nominated their March Asian contracts at higher levels. Our weekly report covers the polyester chain in Asia, including PX (paraxylene), PTA (purified terephthalic acid), MEG (mono-ethylene glycol), polyester chips, and polyester staple and filament prices. Asian Contract Prices (ACPs) are also available for the PX, PTA and MEG markets in Asia, with 5-year charts and downloadable historical data.
