Electronics Engineer Payload Validation

Summary An opportunity for an experienced Electronics Engineer to work for Telespazio VEGA onsite at ESTEC. Objective Engineering and Scientific Support to the Future Missions Office and Prodex supporting Payload Technology Validation Activities. Responsibilities Duties Duties will include but will not be limited to Design of analogue and digital electronics in support of various payload instrument validation activities with a particular emphasis on detector readout electronics Manufacturing and test of electronic circuits Supporting electronic system, components and electrooptical sensor characterisations in the sections laboratories Development of firmware and instrument control and readout software Supporting the development and maintenance of the technical infrastructure needed to validate payload technologies Generally supporting office activities contributing to the elaboration and implementation of the Science Programme technology development plans Evaluation of proposals in response to calls for missions, participation in reviews, payload expertise in support of system studies Qualifications Experience Academic qualification in electronics engineering Minumum of 4 years of handson project or industrial experience in the design, engineering, performance analysis and testing of electronic circuits, preferably in the space domain In particular, expertise in lownoise analogue, highspeed digital techniques and mixedsignal circuits is mandatory Handson experience with such electronic designs and relevant CAD and simulation tools is required Good knowledge of sensor technologies covering wavelengths ranging from IR to gammarays, electrooptical characterisation, cryogenics, and or the design considerations for spacebased payloads would be an asset. Qualities Be creative and have very good problemsolving skills. We are currently looking for a Payload Operations Engineer, wishing to join our dynamic and international team. The work will be performed at the Columbus Control Centre ColCC located in Oberpfaffenhofen, Germany in close interaction with the mission management teams and includes regular travels in Europe, and occasionally in U.S. or other. Qualifications and Experience A Master Degree in Aerospace Engineering or similar Minimum 4 years of experience in human space flight mission operations, with an emphasis on ISS and Columbus operations, e.g. former certified flight controllerops lead or console support person.
