A vacancy for a Mechanical Engineer, Mechanisms Designer mf has arisen within Airbus Defence Space in Toulouse. The OneWeb project aims to provide permanent and affordable web connectivity throughout the world. Airbus Defence Space was selected by OneWeb as a partner for developing and producing a new generation of 900 satellites, leading to a revolutionary change in our Space industry and creating the first mass production of satellites in history. Within the French subsidiary of the Airbus OneWeb Satellites Joint Venture, your main tasks and responsibilities will include Being the Design engineer for spacecraft mechanisms hardware throughout the entire life cycle design, procurement, manufacturing, testing, integration, Designing mechanism components and performing inprocess hand calculationslight analysis as design verification, Creating CAD models and drawings of spacecraft mechanisms hardware, Developing mechanism test plans and procedures TVAC, random vibration, torqueforce testing, deployment, separation supporting mechanism testing operations and posttest data analysis, Working with mechanism hardware inhouse teams or vendors during analysis, procurement, manufacturing and testing activities, Creating and maintaining mechanism design documentation specifications, CAD models, analysis, drawings, parts lists, test plans, test reports. This role will involve some travel for business 20 of the time, worldwide and as such you must be able to travel accordingly. We are looking for candidates with the following skills and experience Educated to a degree level or equivalent, 5 years of experience in engineering activities related to electro mechanics, electro technics, robotics andor mechanisms, Ideally, experience in mechanism design, including actuators, motors, dampers, deployable systems, hinges, release devices, bearings, springs, geared systems, lubrication, etc., Knowledge of CAD modelling and drafting tools, including Solidworks, Catia, ProECreo, NX, or equivalent, Ideally Experience with spacecraft separation systems Experience with solar array release and deployment systems Experience with electromechanical devices including control electronics Proficiency with mechanisms analysis tools, including ADAMS or equivalent Handson experience developing satellite hardware or prototypes in multidisciplinary team environment Interpersonal skills to drive projects within an international environment, Excellent communication and coordination skills, Proactive and independent approach, ability to make decisions, Negotiation level of English French would be a plus. The successful applicant will join the OneWeb programme team, under the responsibility of the Supply Chain leader. The OneWeb project aims to provide permanent and affordable web connectivity throughout the world. Within the OneWeb project team, you will be especially in charge of electronic andor avionics equipment and will be the main and official point of contact towards the suppliers in charge of managing subcontractor execution OnTime and OnCost performances as a priority but also OnQuality. Thanks to supplier intimacy, you will acquire an indepth knowledge of the equipmentsuppliers to an effective control of the suppliers and will coordinate the interfaces of all the stakeholders involved in the suppliers management procurement, technical, quality, EEE parts, material processes, commercial contract. Due to the specific features of the 900 satellites constellation for Oneweb, you will also be a main actor for the suppliers development, when necessary. As a focal point towards the suppliers, your main tasks and responsibilities will include Consolidating all aspects of Supplier Statement of Work and monitoring its execution, Managing all aspects of subcontractor execution, in particular being responsible for OT, OC, OQ delivery of equipment and related documentation services, Managing daily the supplier from subcontracted kickoff to delivery of all deliverables chairing progress meetingsdesign reviewsproduction, reviews including quality gates by delegation, leading deviationwavering process, leading nonconformance process, leading change process, etc. and as such coordinating the interfaces of all stakeholders involved in the supplier management technical, quality, EEE parts, material processes, commercial contract, Acquiring an indepth knowledge of the equipmentsuppliers leading to an effective control of the supplier, Identifying the suppliers risks and proposing mitigation actions, Setting short term recovery plan and ensuring local followupsupport to development plans, Performing the annual suppliers evaluation with appropriate support, Authorising the payment release, after validation of the compliance of deliveries by the stakeholders, Helpingmanaging the development of the suppliers, when necessary This role will involve some travel for business once every two or three months and as such you must be able to travel accordingly. Within the French subsidiary of the Airbus OneWeb Satellites Joint Venture, you will Manage and monitor the implementation of export control and regulatory policies Define and enforce export control processes in compliance with all applicable regulations French and US mainly to enable and optimise business, manage risks and protect the Company from export control violations and their consequences Request and manage the licences TAA, DSP5, EAR licences, STA, European Dual Use licences, in particular Review and write out the Export Control clauses in the Business Contracts, in particular with the suppliers Develop and continuously update the export control processes in the Company, abiding with the Group policies Identify, monitor, and mitigate compliance risks Ensure adequate export compliance reporting or alerting to the Company, if needed Lead and create export compliance awareness across the Company.
