Technical Solution Architect for services provided to our institutional clients within European Space Industry, acting as the primary technical interface to the partners at the client organisations. ResponsibilitiesDuties Identify customer requirements, analyze alternatives and conduct solution recommendations related to software and platform configurations Be unified technical interface between the customer, the internal engineering team and the projectservice subcontractors Collaborate with internal engineering team and projectservice subcontractors to assure architectural and technical solution could be suitably translated into effectual and robust implementation Head responsibility for ongoing technical suggestions and technical standard methodologies for one or multiple projects to sustain projectservice continuity Plan, design and execute complex deployments and solution configuration Conduct feasibility evaluation, work estimation, design and analysis of new Change Request or Work Packages on assigned ongoing projectservice Ensure timely customerfocused responses to improvementchange requests, anomalies, solving assistance, and other technical requests Provide detailed technical documentation including design documentation high level and low level, procedure documentation software installation and maintenance procedures for assigned projectservice Prepare and present verification and validation test plans, technical presentations, technical briefings to respond to different customer change requests and software deliveries Provide technical workshops to the customer or to the internal engineering team QualificationsExperience A university degree in aerospace, informatics or mathematics Experience in software evaluation, integration, testing and distribution Experience and strong understanding of system and software development life cycles and strategic planning for future systems or software releases Experience breaking down customer requirements or business processes into technology requirements. Essential Skills At least 3 years of relevant experience in the design of distributed applications Professional experience with Linux based distributions ex. RedHat At least 5 years of professional handson development experience in any one programming languages Java, C, Python backend development Experience in PostgreSQLMySQL database administration installing, monitoring and maintaining Experience in gathering software requirement and requirement analysis Ability to do code reviews and understand SW technical debt To lead numerous projects with challenging deadlines and priorities Proactive, selfstarter, and motivated to work with minimal supervision Proficiency in spoken and written English. Desirable Skills Good knowledge in one or more of the following Vagrant, Ansible, Puppet, Shef, Docker Docker Swarm, Kubernetes. EPSSG is the European component of the Joint Polar System JPS, which is based on a cooperation with the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration NOAA. EPSSG will be based on a twosatellite configuration with the launch of MetopSG A in mid2021 followed by the second satellite MetopSG B 18 months later. Two recurrent MetopSG A and B satellites will be provided and launched in order to achieve a minimum of 21 years of operations. While EUMETSAT relies on a cooperation with the European Space Agency ESA for the development of the satellite and of a subset of instruments, EUMETSAT will develop and procure a dedicated Ground Segment GS. Existing technologies and infrastructure elements that are already in operation in the EUMETSAT headquarters shall be capitalized as well as the Satellite Application Facilities SAF network. This position is based at customer site in EUMETSAT in Darmstadt. It is fulltime and permanent and expected starting date will be around April 2020. We are looking forward to meeting you! ResponsibilitiesDuties The activities performed by you will be an input for the overall system and ground segment Validation Verification VV activities. You will typically be involved in tasks related to test tools test data, with focus on tools data required for VV of instrument data processing chains. Tools can serve for example the purpose of test data generation manipulation reformatting, test data injection into the ground segment and test data collection analysis. Typical tasks will include Definition and development of the onground instrument data processing specifications e.g. algorithms and product formats Development of the onground instrument data processing systems, test tools and test data Verification, integration and acceptance of the onground instrument data processing elements Validation of data processing algorithms and products Reviews, verification and testing of onground instrument data processors against appropriate versions of requirements, specifications and reference processors System engineering activities in collaboration with EPSSG System and Ground segment teams Interactions with Space Segment teams and analysis of instrumentrelated documentation Formal reviews and technical meetings at system and ground segment level Preparation of documentation for system and ground segment level reviews in relevant areas. QualificationsExperience University degree in the domain of engineering, science, or equivalent At least 3 years of experience in engineering of onground data processing elements for spaceborne observing imaging andor sounding systems. Essential Skills Good skills in higher programming languages such as CC, Java, IDL, Python Experience in verifying onground instrument data processing systems Experience in development of test data sets and processor prototypes Desirable Skills Knowledge of relevant spaceborne observation instruments EPSSG satellites will embark sounders and imagers from the ultraviolet to the microwave range, a scatterometer and a radiooccultation instrument Experience in specification of operational products for earth observation missions.
