Data breaches were rampant in 2019, occurring at an unprecedented pace. However, the first half of this year has seen a reduction in the number of reported events. Reported being the operative word. In all, more than 15 billion records were exposed in nearly 7,100 data breaches last year. This year however, the number of publicly reported data breaches has decreased.

(Telecompaper) Competition on the Belgian TV market is on the up as streaming services become increasingly common. This has led to multiple announcements about new content ventures in recent weeks. Proximus is working with Disney+, Orange has put its focus on football and Telenet is preparing its own SVoD service. The increased focus on content is due to the fact that the Belgian television market showed subscriber losses for a third consecutive quarter in the second quarter of 2020, according to Telecompaper's latest Belgian Total Communications Market report.

Salt sees revenues, EBITDA decline in Q2, adds 7,600 postpaid mobile customers

(Telecompaper) Swiss operator Salt said total revenues declined by 3.8 percent year-on-year in Q2 2020 to CHF 244.8 million from CHF 254.5 million in the same period the prior year. On a like-for-like basis, operating revenue excluding incoming revenue was down 4.5 percent in Q2. The Covid-19 pandemic hit roaming revenues in particular, which offset the positive underlying performance of the company's core business.

Suspected fraudulent digital transactions against businesses worldwide dropped nine percent from the lockdown phase of the pandemic to the reopening phase.
