Dutch multiplay revenues grow to almost EUR 1 billion in Q3

(Telecompaper) Revenue generated by Dutch telecom operators from multiplay subscriptions grew to EUR 993 million in the third quarter of 2015, up by 7.4 percent compared with the same quarter in 2014. The revenue growth was driven by an increase in the number of broadband households signing up for multiplay services. The number of households with quad-play subscriptions, including both fixed and mobile services, grew to more than 600,000 at the end of quarter, according to Telecompaper's Dutch Consumer Multiplay Market 2015 Q3 report.

According to statistics compiled and reported by SPI: the Plastics Industry Trade Association’s Committee on Equipment Statistics, total shipments of plastics machinery by North American suppliers posted another strong performance in the third quarter of 2015. Shipments of primary plastics equipment for reporting companies totaled $300.6 million in Q3. This was a small gain of 0.8% from total of $298.4 million in Q2 of 2015, but it was a drop of 4.6% when compared with same quarter last year.

Russian smartphone sales fall in Q3

(Telecompaper) Smartphones sales totaled 7 million devices in the third quarter in Russia, down by 5 percent year-on-year, reports Tdaily.ru citing a study from the mobile retail chain Euroset. Sales revenue jumped by 16 percent to RUB 70 billion. The average retail price of a smartphone sold increased by 22 percent to RUB 9,700, the first increase in five years. Sales in units totaled 18 million in January-September, down by 6 percent. The peak of the decline was in March-April. The penetration of Android devices grew to 86 percent. Russian mobile retail chain Svyaznoy said that smartphones sales dropped by 3 percent in volume in the third quarter, while revenues increased by 13 percent.
