Galileo Service and Operations Support

Position Reference 043 You will have the opportunity to support preparation and followup activities for Galileo services provision and the consolidation of the operational processes. Tasks and Activities The scope of work will include Galileo operations and service provision concept Contribute to the elaboration of the Galileo Operations Concept, including the use of the Galileo Control Centres GCC Technical followup of operation processes Support transition from current Galileo FOC operations to new service operator migration scenarios analysis, operations transition plans Support the followup of the current Galileo operations contract between ESA and the incumbent operator and assess changes impact on GSOp baseline Galileo service preparation and provision Review KPIs definition versus liability and performance monitoring capability, including the definition of tools and review the approach to validation Define the approach to operational validation of major releases Support Timing Service and Geodetic Reference Service validation Update, elaborate and review asset management strategy and utilisation plan contribute GSA internal processes related to asset management definition Ground Operations Contribute to the Galileo GCC Operations Concept document Ensure consistency of technical and operations requirements baseline during ground segment evolution process specify and verify elements functions following changes, troubleshooting and validation activities Define and analyse the relevant KPIs, Analyse the operations changes baseline configuration changes or deviations, operation processes evolutions and services provision transitions Initial Services preparation support Followup consolidation of processes and operational interfaces between the EC, ESA, GSA, CNES and other parties as required Update of documentation of processes, procedures and interfaces in the Galileo operations documentation Followup in the initial phase the initial services implementation and validation activities, analysing the related key performance indicators KPIs Followup of the initial services operations phase. Skills and Experience The following skills and experience are mandatory You have University degree in an Engineering discipline. You have at least 5 years of experience within Galileo Operation activities You have knowledge and understanding of the Galileo Operations and service provisions You have knowledge of Galileo Ground Operations. Position Reference 121 RHEA Group is currently recruiting a Software Engineer to support our Ground Segment Solutions and MOIS team in both RHEA Group and ESOC premises in Darmstadt, Germany. RHEA Groups MOIS product is an integrated set of software tools for spacecraft test and mission operation procedure preparation and execution. It is used by ESA on all current and upcoming missions and is also provided as a commercial product to the space industry.. The software is used for more than 80 satellites. The Ground Segment Solutions team also provides developments in the area of satellite ground segment and operations for different customers in the space industry. Tasks and Activities As a Software Development and Support Engineer, your envisaged tasks and activities include Software development activities for applications and tools in the frame of RHEAs space projects. Providing high quality technical user support to various spacecraft project and mission teams at ESA ESOC. Taking ownership of technical issues, and working closely with the Development Team to resolve more advanced issues where necessary Implementing missionspecific enhancements to the Rheas software products. Ensuring timely bug fixes and communication to customers such as ESA. Developing new capabilities and functionalities for the evolution of RHEAs software products. You will be working closely with Rheas Development Team in Darmstadt on a number of major software enhancements that aim to widen the scope of our Software products and integrate the latest technologies. Skills and Experience The following skills and experience are mandatory University degree in Software Engineering or equivalent. At least 2 years of demonstrated experience in software engineering more specifically, requirements analysis, system analysis and design and development, database SQL and XML design, web services, user interface design. Experience in technical document writing notably, user requirements, design documentation, and test documentation. Strong knowledge of objectoriented and serviceoriented design techniques. Required experience using JAVA VB6 Eclipse MS Windows environment registry, COM, etc. Software Configuration Management SCM systems e.g. SubVersion, Mercuria and Git Desired experience using MS Office and MS Office development macros, interop XML, WSDL Linux Software product support and maintenance experience. A clientoriented, dynamic and proactive attitude and a willingness to provide user interaction and support. Excellent communications skills, with very good written and spoken English. Legal and Security Requirements All applicants must be legally allowed to work in The Netherlands Applicants are required to provide a copy of their passport and degree certificate. The standard working hours are 40 per week. There are 12 public holidays and an additional 30 annual days holiday.
