POSITION ID 2459 Role Function QA Engineering Support in Darmstadt Germany GENERAL CONDITIONS START ASAP LOCATION Darmstadt TYPE OF BUSINESS Science CONTRACT fulltime employment WORKING LANGUAGE English, French is considered an advantage DEADLINE 03 July 2015 MUSTHAVE SKILLS MANDATORY As a minimum, the Key Person shall have a university degree or equivalent, education in Quality Assurance, and a minimum of 5 years experience in one or more positions utilizing skills as listed in the following section. The following attributes are essential for this position Good knowledge of the ISO 9000 series. Experience of working in an environment where an ISO 9001 certified management system is established and maintained. Knowledge of the management, engineering and quality assurance activities performed for a project, as typically defined in a formal project management methodology. Experience of documenting work activities in the form of process definitions, procedures and working practices, plus good userviewpoint writing skills. Experience of Quality Assurance auditing process assessment. Skilled in proficiently using Microsoft Office tools suite. NICETOHAVE SKILLS CONSIDERED AS AN ADVANTAGE One or more of the following will be considered an advantage Knowledge of Quality Management Knowledge of ISO 31000 Risk Management Principles and Guidelines Possession of an auditing qualification Knowledge of IT service management service related processes Experience of working in an operational systems environment Experience in IT andor softwareintensive engineering projects Knowledge of the ECSS standards. TASKS The Quality Assurance Engineering support role will consist of the following main tasks Assisting in the definition and implementation of TSS processes i.e. engineering, management and supporting processes. PerformingSupporting assessments of TSS processes and recommending improvements. Monitoring selected processes, such as anomaly management processes, and providing statistics on them. Supporting TSS risk management processes and associated reviews. Providing support in the implementation and improvement of the TSS Quality Assurance Plan and quality processes in TSS. Providing training in Quality matters to members of TSS. Note that the list above is nonexhaustive, but serves to show the typical range of tasks that will be assigned to the Key Person. Further tasks will be assigned as needs arise, taking into account the profile requirements provided in this document.

Knowledge and experience with the following is considered essential Extensive experience in the analysis of systems applications and modeling. At least 5 years demonstrated experience in the field of systems engineering and architectural design. Space and Ground System engineering processes, and System and Software lifecycles and standards. Experience in Model Based Systems Engineering methods, techniques and tools. Experience in the use of modelling and design tools in support of architectural design activities e.g. CORE Definition, management and traceability of requirements structure with the support of dedicated tools e.g. DOORS. NICETOHAVE SKILLS CONSIDERED AS AN ADVANTAGE Previous working experience in system engineering aspects of SystemGround Systems for MeteorologicalEarth Observation Satellites would be an advantage. Experience in evolution management andor product line management of assets shared across organisational parts is desirable. The Key person shall be able to fulfill the assigned tasks with a minimum of supervision, have a Systematic approach to work, be able to plan hisher work and to cope with tight schedules and multiple parallel tasks. Heshe shall have the capability to write accurate and consistent technical documentation. Good communications skills verbal and written are important. Heshe shall be willing to work in a team of engineers and in cooperation with industry and partner agencies. Due to the nature of the position, the Key person shall have good interpersonal skills and proactive attitude with strong ability to work effectively in a diverse team environment. TASKS The Key person will perform system engineering activities such as Requirements engineering, which consists in requirement analysis and validation, requirement allocation, and requirements maintenance. Functional analysis and architecture design applying system modelling engineering methods and techniques. Subsegment components specification. Interface and data structures and flows definition. Design which results in architecture, described by its complete functional, physical and software characteristics. System analysis, which is performed for the purpose of resolving requirements conflicts, decomposing and allocating requirements, assessing system effectiveness. Performance of trade studies for assessing effectiveness, risk, cost and planning. The Key person is expected to perform the following specific tasks Build models of Subsystem of the RA Ground Segment, capturing their requirements, describing the internal architecture and defining their external interfaces. Support the generation, review and maintenance of the documentation of the RA Subsystems addressing their architecture, functions, requirements and interfaces. Support the management of the requirements of the RA subsystem and Components, heeding on the evolution of the operational system and future systems, using DOORS. Categorize and link relevant Subsystem and Component requirements to the model for traceability. Refine the processes and working practices established for the application of the Model Based SE and the use of CORE. Support the administration, configuration, deployment and use of CORE licenses.
