TASKS Extracting relevant information from the ATOVSAVHRR EPS processing chains and Cal Val Facility CVF to perform regular production and quality monitoring reports. The reporting intervals are daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly and yearly Performing offline analysis of product quality Implementing new or revised products into the operational product processing chains Working on improvements of the existing product quality Maintaining contact with users to obtain their feedback on product service quality Elaborating, tracking and publishing service level quality indicators Reporting anomalies in product services, contributing to their diagnosis and tracking their resolution Supporting validation of new and improved products, and the compilation of the relevant product validation reports MANDATORY SKILLS University degree or equivalent in a relevant discipline A minimum of 3 year experience of the operational use and quality control of satellite or meteorological data Able to conduct all activities in an orderly and structured manner, able to work calmly and correctly under stress and with a minimum of supervision The consultant must be able to work effectively in English and have knowledge of French Good skills in writing in English Good communication skills Experience in Verification of operational product processing systems Experience in Configuration control of software and data Experience in Programming in C, C and Fortran Experience in Production monitoring and reporting Experience in Quality control of satellite data and products Experience in Utilisation of products from meteorological satellites Experience in Calibration and validation of satellite products Knowledge and experience in the following areas will be an advantage Experience in the use of image processing software such as IDL or ENVI in a UNIX environment Experience in the quality control of NOAA polar satellite data, meteorological observations and Numerical Weather Prediction data Knowledge of and experience with EPS missions and instruments Experience with work under UNIXLinux operating systems Experience in the use of Scripting Languages e.g. Perl, Python, shell Additionally EU national or valid work permit for Germany CV in Europass editable format

PA and Safety Support Engineer 1511035 Job Description We are looking for a PA and Safety Support Engineer to support our client ESA and their site in Holland. You will be required to Support the Euclid PA S Manager in all activities related to the execution of the Product Assurance Programme for the Euclid Project and deputise for the PA S Manager as required. Support the Tender Evaluation Process ESA Best Practice review approve the PAS aspects of ITTs, evaluate proposals submitted in response to ITTs and support the selection of contractors for the project. Actively participate, and represent ESA, in the Design Review Process at System, Instrument and Unit Level. Support the Risk Management and Configuration Management Processes within the ESA Project Team, including the disposition of Request for Deviations and Request for Waivers RFDs RFWs. Support the PAS Manager to ensure the effective implementation and execution of the nonconformance identification and reporting mechanisms within the contractor supply chain and confirm the correct and formal closure of NCRs. Together with the Satellite Prime and the Instrument Primes, review ESA Alerts for potential impact to the Euclid project and, internally, the ESA IPNs Internal Problem Notifications, ensuring they are formally addressed and closedout. Support the Satellite and Instrument Primes in monitoring the manufacturing, integration and test activities using manufacturing readiness reviews MRR, mandatory inspection points MIPs, test readiness reviews TRRs, test review boards TRBs and, where necessary, quality assurance audits. Assist the PAS Manager in ensuring that all formally delivered items within the Project supply chain conform with requirements using formal acceptance reviews Delivery Review Boards DRBs. Produce reports on project and review activities, including conclusions and recommendations where necessary, participate in progress meetings, when needed and reporting on project PA status. Undertake extensive travel within Europe. Required Skills and Experience You will need demonstrate University degree in engineering or technical sciences. A minimum of 6 years experience in Product Assurance and Quality Assurance in the aerospace domain. Good interpersonal, organisation and communication skills, with the ability to work in a diverse team environment. Knowledge of Configuration Management or the implementation of Product Assurance within a quality system certified to ISO 9001 would be an asset.
