TASKS The key person is expected to support mainly two key tasks. It is foreseen, that the detailed key tasks will include as a minimum 1. Java EE Application Development Design, implement, maintain, test and deliver applications for all services based on Java, Java EE, Oracle Database and Oracle Web Center Content Management System following the full application development and maintenance cycle 2. Oracle Administration Install, configure, monitor, cluster, optimise and administer Oracle Web Center Content WCC and Site Studio for External Applications SSXA Servers as well as Oracle Application Servers WebLogic Glassfish used by web applications, Website and Intranet. Furthermore the key person is expected to support the following tasks, but to a much lesser extent than the key tasks. It is foreseen, that the detailed tasks will include as a minimum Oracle Database Administration Coordinate lowlevel Oracle DBA tasks with external DBA support company which is taking care of tasks like installing, upgrading, patching, clustering, monitoring and backing up of databases Administer, optimise and configure Oracle Databases highlevel DBA tasks Support Oracle Database design schema generation, analysis, data migration and report generation Implement and maintain scripts andor procedures where applicable for the automated andor controlled execution of the above activities Very exceptional, install and setup Oracle Databases COTS Application Maintenance Specify, customize, integrate and maintain clientserver based COTS systems and document the customisation and integration in the EUMETSAT environment e.g. Book Library System, Org Chart System, Image Library System PHP Application Maintenance Maintain, test and deliver PHP based applications General Tasks Provide second level support for existing applications, systems and services Gather and document user and system requirements and constraints Document the tasks and deliverables according to EUMETSAT working practices Perform the related quality assurance, configuration and change management activities Contribute to project planning and reporting. PROFILE In addition to having a university degree in computer science, software engineering or equivalent, the consultant shall have as a prerequisite For Java EE Development At least 3 years professional experience in the design, implementation, integration and testing of Website and Intranet applications using Java EE and Oracle databases At least 3 years professional experience in developing with JSFFacelets, JSP, Servlets At least 2 years professional experience in developing with JPA Hibernate, TopLink Knowledge of XHTML, CSS, Ajax, JavaScript, XML, XSTL Knowledge of Oracle SQL For Oracle Administration At least 3 years professional experience in Oracle WebCenter Content 11g installation, configuration, administration and operation At least 3 years professional experience in Weblogic 11g and Glassfish installation, configuration, administration, clustering and operation Experience in integrating applications in Oracle WebCenter Content11g For General Tasks Knowledge of Windows Proven experience in formal documentation, preferably in a ISO 9000 certified project and service environment High degree of autonomy, good personal communication skills oral and writing and strong customeroriented approach to interact with EUMETSAT personnel. In addition to the above requirements, experience knowledge in the following areas shall be considered a distinct advantage For Oracle Database Administration Professional experience in Oracle 11g database administration Knowledge of Oracle PLSQL For COTS Application Maintenance Professional experience in integrating and customising COTS systems For PHP Application Maintenance Experience in maintaining PHP applications For General Tasks Experience in integrating systems with Web ServicesSOAP, LDAPAD Experience with reporting tools e.g. Jasper Reports, Crystal Reports, SAP BI Knowledge of IIS Knowledge of UML and Design Patterns Knowledge of ITIL, in particular with respect to change and configuration management fundamentals and principles. LSE Space is looking for an experienced Engineer mf in order to fulfill the duty of UNIX System Software EngineeringSupport for our customer EUMETSAT in DarmstadtGermany. The TCE is an UNIXbased multiplatform server environment that is used for engineering and scientific work. It provides essential service functions in support to EUMETSAT operations like the collection and storage of statistical data. Currently it consists of about 15 UNIX servers, 250 TB of online disk storage, an independent network and integrated backup services. There are some 250 users of the system which are accessing the servers and the disk storage from their offices via Linux Workstations that are used in parallel to the office computer infrastructure. It offers a wide range of operating systems, compilers, linkers, data analysis software and other tools that are needed for software development, data analysis and data storage. It also hosts the development environment for most of the operational ground segments. The system is undergoing constant upgrade. Currently the system is converted into a local Cloud providing most of the services by virtual services and other virtual resources. The following activities shall be performed installation and configuration of operating system and other software, tuning of operating systems parameters to optimise performance analysis, planning and carrying out of HW and SW upgrades or reconfigurations, taking care of compatibility issues between subsystems monitoring of the system performance, investigation into HW and system SW problems and carrying out the relevant corrective actions provision of firstlevel support to the users of the system ensuring that in case of HW or system SW failures the operational configuration can be restored, including the definition, maintenance, carrying out of backup procedures coordination with shared infrastructures, e.g. networks, storage network infrastructure SNI, for operations and maintenance liaison with the external providers of HW and system SW maintenance for the request and follow up of maintenance interventions administration and installation of databases administration of user accounts support to SW development and maintenance in relation to the utilisation of system resources implementation and maintenance of scripts andor procedures where applicable for the automated andor controlled execution of the above activities, generation or update of technical documentation in relation to system upgrades provision of standbyoncall support if needed under special circumstances provision of support, as required, to critical operations. Qualifications Experience Mandatory requirements are on IBM computers AIX, configuration of pseries servers, GPFS, TSM backup, NIM on DELLIBM x64 computers SuSE Linux andor RedHat Linux Virtualisation based on VMWare products Network based on Ethernet SAN technology TCPIP internetworking and the related network protocols and applications, e.g. NIS, NFS, DNS, SNMP, FTP Experience in some of the following areas shall be considered as an advantage Installation and maintenance of ORACLE databases Maintenance of an Online Documentation system FirstSecond Level user support Automatic Service Provisioning using Cloud technologies. MC RAID arrays and virtual appliances on Sun computers Solaris operating systems Academic and work related requirements A University degree in an engineering discipline is required.
