You will work in projects developing, extending and maintaining different tools based on the Eclipse RCP platform for our space clients. The tools support the engineering, preparation and operations of satellite missions. Besides Eclipse RCP the main technologies are Eclipse EMF, Java Spring or similar Dependency Injection frameworks as well as testing frameworks such as JUnit. The frontends are based on JFaceSWT for Eclipse RCP or other technologies as they fit, such as Angular. The development environment includes GitGitLab and Maven. The work is done in close collaboration with end users. Internally you will be part of an expert team who together evolve our Eclipse RCP capabilities and expertise. As a senior engineer you will help form the team spirit, training and mentoring more junior engineers. To remain a specialist you will attend workshops and conferences related to the field. The profile will contribute as Payload System Engineer to the engineering activity undertaken by the Microwave and Data Handling Payloads Unit within the frame of programmes and studies. Location Rome Task description In the frame of the design phases, to support the definition of payload PL functional and performance requirements by performing the required analyses and assessments. Definition, implementation and maintenance of models and software tools for simulating the PL functionalities and main performances. Definition, implementation and maintenance of PL RF budgets. Definition of PL command and control interface. Definition, implementation and maintenance of PL related Link Budgets as applicable. Contribution to definition of Payload architectures. Definition, implementation and maintenance of PL interfaces and budgets. Support to PL equipment and assembly, internal and external supplier technical monitoring and relevant review attendance. In the frame of the verification and validation phases of the programme, assessingevaluating PL functionalities and performance on the basis of test results. To support as PL System and Verification engineer the relevant Assembly Integration and Test AIT campaign as applicable. Participation to meetingsreviews with both internal and external customers. Preparation of documents and presentations. Contribution to programme reports and minutes of meetings. Personal requirements Masters degree in ElectronicsTelecommunication Engineering. Background in the field of communication systems, with focus on space applications. Knowledge of digital and RF electronics. Knowledge of electrical communication interfaces and protocols.
