We are currently looking for a EGNOS Sites Engineer to work in the beautiful city of Toulouse. The European Geostationary Navigation Overlay Service EGNOS is Europes regional satellitebased augmentation system SBAS that is used to improve the performance of global navigation satellite systems GNSSs, such as GPS and Galileo. It has been deployed to provide safety of life navigation services to aviation, maritime and landbased users over most of Europe. EGNOS improves the accuracy and reliability of GNSS positioning information, while also providing a crucial integrity message regarding the continuity and availability of a signal. In addition, EGNOS also transmits an extremely accurate universal time signal. Tasks and Activities The scope of work will include Hosting Sites surveys technical management including Infrastructure, RF, network surveys Support to the procurement of the Hosting Site survey Specific Contract Technical followup of the Hosting Site Survey Specific Contracts, including regular onsite missions and report evaluation Technical followup of complementary Hosting Site surveys performed by Industry Prime Coordination with EGNOS Hosting entities to prepare surveys in the best location Coordination with EGNOS Service provider to minimize the impact on EGNOS V2 operational system Coordination with ESA when need be Follow up of Hosting Sites upgrades technical management upgrades of existing sites and new sites Definition of the necessary Hosting sites upgrades based on the Hosting sites surveys recommendations Civil works, network, etc... for existing sites Support to the procurement of Hosting entities services civil work and initial operations Followup of Hosting Sites upgrades activities and development of the new sites Coordination with ESA and Industry Prime for the preparation of the Hosting sites and deployment activities Coordination with EGNOS Service provider and Hosting entities to minimise the impact on EGNOS V2 operational system Participation to Sites Acceptance process Support to the definition of security related activities Follow up of participation to the definition of site related activities for the transition EGNOS V2 to EGNOS V3 and EGNOS V3 Service provision Skills and Experience The following skills and experience are mandatory Masters Degree in the relevant discipline. At least 5 years of experience in Hosting Sites management procurement, infrastructure, RF andor network surveys Fluency in English Organised, dynamic and proactive Security clearance EU Secret will be necessary but is not mandatory to start the activities Previous EGNOS experience is an asset How to Apply Looking to take your career to the next level? Overview The contractor will be assigned to the Flight Software Systems Section of the Software Systems Division and will be in charge of the following initial tasks Project support related to all technical aspects development and qualification of flight software. General Support to Software Validation Facilities and Avionics Test Bench infrastructure activities. NOTE This position is intended for functional support to Galileo therefore applicants must be nationals of EU Member States, Norway and Iceland. Specific qualification requirements A Masters degree or equivalent qualification in Electronic Engineering, Space Systems Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics or a related discipline.
