Position Reference 741 You will have the opportunity to assist EUMETSAT in monitoring the progress made by the EPSSG Payload Data Acquisition and Processing PDAP Supplier in its development of the Data Processing functions. Tasks and Activities The scope of work will include Interact closely with the PDAP, DPI, and PGFs Suppliers being the local interface to provide EUMETSAT with a continuous oversight of the Suppliers activities, including the following ones software development e.g. team workload and efficiency, adherence to Quality Assurance procedures and working practices, resolution of technical issues, in particular for the DPI and the PGFs developed under the PDAP Contract management e.g. status and progress assessment, schedule control, WP management, progress report preparation acceptance of subsystems e.g. reception of subcontractors deliveries, incoming inspections, production of test reports contributing to provide technical clarifications to the PDAP, DPI and PGFs Suppliers on the EUMETSAT expectations relevant to the Data Processing system under development, including requirements to be fulfilled and testing aspects. Attend Integration and Testing activities of the Data Processing systems under development, including the Data Processing Infrastructure DPI, the L1L2 Products Generation Functions PGFs, whether held at the PDAP or DPI Suppliers premises in Toulouse, at the PGFs Suppliers premises, or at the EUMETSAT Headquarters in Darmstadt. Participate to Technical Management Meetings Participate in Review of Documentation analyse and comment, the Progress Reports associated to the PDAP and PDP related Progress Meetings review PDAP Suppliers documentation related to the Data Processing system under development, including Design, Compliance Matrices, and IVV related documentation review EUMETSAT documentation dealing with concepts and technical analyses of relevance for Data Processing systems followup associated actions or review activities. Position Reference 579 You will have the opportunity to provide engineering support to the Software Product Assurance Section at the European Space Agency in Madrid, Spain. Please note that this is a parttime position. Tasks and Activities The scope of work will include Good product assurance requires good configuration control and we have several people involved in both areas. We do not have much mission overlap in configuration control while in QA we have a strong input from TEC forming a sort of cross mission QA support with a small group. The small QA group is usually supported by QA functions provided in the missions usually from the configuration control area. A PAQA service also requires certain tools such as SONAR and possibly specific metrics to be run on continuous build system. There should also be PA Risk Management and Document Management plans at the SCIO level which is referred to in the individual SIPs of the missions. In close liaison with SCIOQ and in collaboration with the projectmission managers the PAQA service includes the following tasks Establish the PA requirements and PA plan relevant to the project in compliance with the ESA SW Engineering and Product Assurance standards. Guide and monitor the implementation of PA requirements by the project in order to ensure their proper implementation. Monitor and control the performanceeffectiveness of the processes used during the development of the software. Maintain PAQA processes and procedures relevant to the project including PA documentation Participate in inspections and reviews scrums, design, code, documentation, of the project and directing the necessary preventive or corrective actions. Define and ensure the correct application of problem reporting procedures. Define, implement and perform a metrication program to manage the development and to assess the quality of the development processes and the products. Implement and perform process assessment and improvement. Perform project audits and assessments specifically for quality and configuration practices. Provide support to SCIOQ in PAQA aspects, such as o Participate in project reviews when requested o Provide feedback on the projects by monthly report o Develop and maintain PA procedures and practices applicable to SCIO o Provide feedback and support to SCIOQ in configuration management aspects o Spot check configuration management practices on all missions, ensuring the correct application of the configuration management procedures o Provide support to the development and maintenance of configuration control procedures and practices applicable to SCIO o Feedback on risk management project status, performed by crossreference to the SCIO risk policy, Maintain methods and tools relevant to PAQA activities e.g. Sonar tool, verifying and reporting their correct use by the project. Support test preparation data, HW, procedures, etc., witness testing and problem reports registers. Support TRR and TRBs and the setup and maintenance of the test environment when needed. Support configuration manager in preparing testing and deploying software releases. Support the configuration manager with the development, implementation and maintenance of configuration control procedures. Ensure document management process e.g. releases is in conformance with the Document management plan. Support the Risk management process per mission, including participation in regular risk assessment meetings. Support the selection and implementation of the development environment and verify availability to developers and users on time. Skills and Experience The following skills and experience are mandatory You have a Masters degree in software engineering or computer science with background on space engineering. You have Relevant professional work experience. You are familiar with space product assurance practices together with a good working knowledge of appropriate working tools. You have practical experience in applying ECSS SW standards. You have knowledge and proven handson experience in the following areas Configuration management of complex systems. SW engineering and PA Processes Use and configuration of, at least, some of the following tools SONAR, JIRA, Jenkins, Maven and Confluence. You have professional experience on SW engineering and productquality assurance. The following skills would be highly desirable You have experience on ESA software engineering processes and standards.
