GEO Configuration Management Support Officer

For our activities in EUMETSAT, we are currently looking for a GEO Configuration Management Support Officer. Tasks and Responsibilities You will be integrated within the Information Management and Configuration Management Competence Area of the Process Assurance and Management Support Division PRS. The general tasks will be to provide support to the GEO Configuration Manager. Your tasks will include Managing the documentation under configuration control according to the agreed procedures and supporting the release of relevant configuration lists reports Act as secretary of Configuration Control Board meetings, prepare and convene the meetings, analyse the proposed engineering changes, prepare the relevant Minutes of Meeting, and notify the external entities as necessary Follow up the change process with the related action items, to ensure timely information availability on the status of changes Track versions of hardware and software items and documentation according to the evolution of the configured items Verify the hardware and software configuration status by performing configuration audits Maintain up to date the configuration management databases Support the drafting, review and update of the Product Documentation Trees, generate and maintain the Configuration Item lists Support the drafting, reviews and update of the Configuration Management Plans and related Working Practice and Procedures Support the definition and maintenance of Baselines at Programme, System and Ground Segment Levels EUMETSAT responsibility Support the definition of Configuration Management Requirements Support technical reviews for Configuration Management aspects Support Design Reviews organised at EUMETSAT, coordinating the distribution of the datapackage to the reviewers, in coordination with the Information Management function Contribute to the advertisement and continuous improvements of applicable EUMETSAT CM processes, procedures, guidelines Document and perform validation testing on new Generic Dimensions Framework the EUMETSAT corporate CM tool releases Contribute to the provision of S.M.A.R.T. requirements for CM Tool enhancements Attend the regular coordination PRS CM meetings, report on the progress of assigned actions, raise issues requiring management attention, and exchange with other PRS CM members on respective experiences and best solutions to address common issues. Requirements Essentials In addition to a University degree in computer science or engineering, you should have a demonstrated experience of at least 5 years conducting and implementing Configuration Management of large scale, softwarecentred systems in an operational environment, preferably for highavailability 24hday systems like e.g. processing production chains, data centres or satellite systems. Experience in Quality Assurance, space system project control and or process modelling of largescale systems with a very good understanding of project development life cycle methodologies would be considered, providing that adequate knowledge and involvement in Configuration Management activities is also demonstrated. Following skills are mandatory Proven significant knowledge and experience in specifying, reviewing and implementing Configuration Management plans, processes and working practices, or at least extensive experience in providing management support to programmes or projects in development Significant experience in project development methodologies, and in particular in configuration management including the definition or review of upstream source code configuration management requirements, control of configuration evolutions of systems software, hardware, databases, satellite and ground system procedures, documents, media, COTS software and COTS Licences, up to the testing and deployment of new releases on configuration controlled environments Extensive knowledge and experience with configuration management tools e.g. Serena Dimensions CM, Jira or Clearcase or business process management tools electronic workflows Experience of software development on a medium or large size project Extensive knowledge and experience with process modelling tools and techniques. Extensive knowledge and experience of a Configuration Management, Quality Assurance or Project Management standard e.g. ISO, ANSI, ECSS, CMMI Proven experience in planning, developing and implementing training sessions and or coaching sessions to users and stakeholders. You are also required to have the experience and capability to fulfil the assigned tasks with the minimum of supervision very good team working skills and strong action achievement orientation demonstrated very good communication skills both in writing and speaking be able to conduct all activities in an orderly and disciplined manner, in particular when applying, supporting and advertising EUMETSAT processes and working practices have demonstrated very good skills in documenting all his her artefacts be able to work calmly under stress. Finally you should have a high command of English both in writing and speaking knowledge of French would be considered an advantage. Tasks and Responsibilities As SAP Financials Support Officer you will be responsible for the following tasks Support daytoday operation of the EUMETSAT SAP System with emphasis on SAP Financials related topics by Providing SAP application support to EUMETSAT endusers in the use of the SAP ERP and BI Reporting system. The role is instrumental in helping to control the SAP Change Management Process and includes the following tasks, as a minimum Continuous and uptodate monitoring followup, tracking and documentation of bugs and enhancement until closure Continuous and uptodate monitoring followup of the system transport requests provided for system changes Initiating and coordinating the system change management process by providing and collecting change details and creating issuing the related change management forms for the changes to the system functionality Identifying testing, documentation, training materials, etc. that may be affected by system changes and following up the implementation of the required changes in a timely manner. Support enduser related and processrelated documentation and trainings with special emphasis on SAP Financials by Highlighting end user training needs in the area of SAP Financials Coordinating SAP Financials related end user training initiated via the SAP Key User Group, direct requests or as a result of Service Desk action, including training reports and training material Coordinating and followingup changes to enduser documentation, process documentation, test documentation etc. Providing ad hoc and scheduled end user training in cooperation with the SAP Key User Group or as part of the EUMETSAT induction programme. Requirements Essentials You should have the following skills and experience Knowledge experience in accounting principles and SAP Financial concepts in areas such as GL accounting, AP, AR, Asset Management, Cash Management, Travel Management and integration to budgeting, procurement and sales processes, ideally including public sector management Basic working knowledge of SAP Financials system configuration, setup and SAP system change processes Proven experience in providing SAP Financials enduser support, and being proficient in using the SAP ERP system, preferably the SAP ERP Financials Experience of working in a SAP Support Team, preferably in a public sector organisation comparable to EUMETSAT, with involvement in a continuous improvement process Prior experience in coordinating tasks between a high number of internal and external people, such as bug followup, training coordination and documentation followup Experience in providing end user training in the areas of SAP navigation, workflow and ESS on SAP portal Basic understanding of SAP workflow concept and models and the ability to review and trace workflow logs and errors Basic understanding of SAP reporting concept, preferably with SAP Business Intelligence Working knowledge of employee selfservice functionalities such as shopping cart and goods service receipt, absence and time management, employee data maintenance, payroll slip, training requests Proficiency in use of Microsoft Office Tools, especially Microsoft Word and Excel.
