We are looking for a Data Processing Systems and Applications Engineer Responsibility Maintenance and development of the Data Processing SystemsApplication Software Procurement activities for maintenance and evolution activities, such as specification and maintenance of requirements for new or enhanced Data Processing SystemsApplications Software components that are going to be implemented by external contractors monitor their detailed design and implementation generate the test plans, test specificationprocedures, perform the acceptance of the externally developed components, support the integration testing in the ground segment and the operational validation Contribute to the definition and design of architectures of data processing ground segments and their components, their interfaces, and the validation and verification methods Coordinationinputs to planning and preparation of releases Coordination with other Teams andor Contractors to prepare introduction of newupgraded components Generation and maintenance of technical baseline documentation Contribute to the operations of existing data processing ground segments Participation in technical meetings and formal reviews Analysis of the maintenance requirements and identification, procurement or implementation of the tools required to fulfil them Settingup and implementation of maintenance policies and procedures Perform routine tasks in operational systems under configuration control such as Anomaly investigations, documentation and classification Participation in relevant Anomaly Review Boards Follow up of the delivery of SW resolutions for these anomalies Contribute to Configuration Management change control practices Contribute to building and distribution of application software releases and patches Verification of correct facility installation for the assigned facilities Contribute to the development, integration and configuration management of software developed by third parties, its installation, and configuration and testing Perform SW testing in a structured approach to verify that delivered SW is fulfilling the requirements or to demonstrate that problems have been corrected Profile Mandatory skills Engineering of large, UNIX or LINUX based, complex, realtime data processing systems, including requirements specification, design, software maintenance or development, formal software testing and system integration Very good technical writing skills, in particular in the area of formal technical documentation e.g. requirements specification and design documentation, test plans and procedures, maintenance procedures Source code control systems e.g. Subversion, Git Software anomalies analysis, debugging, profiling, fixing and processing Additional skills considering as an added value Operating systems and application software upgrades andor porting to new platforms Objectoriented software design, implementation, and maintenance, including the use of UMLSysML based tools for supportingdocumenting the design, at least at the architectural level Web technologies and programming e.g. Apache, CGI, JavaScript, XML Programming languages e.g. C, Java, Python

Summary An exciting opportunity for an experienced Control Engineer to join the Telespazio VEGA UK team, working on site at ESTEC, supporting AOCS development and maintenance. Objective To provide support to the AOCS and Pointing Systems section through definition and implementation of AOCS for Earth Observation, Telecom, Navigation satellites and for Astronomy Observatories, across a number of projects including Sentinel, Earth Care, MTG, Alphasat, Small GEO, Galileo, GAIA, Solar Orbiter. Responsibilities Duties The successful candidate will be expected to Participate in project reviews SRR, PDR CDR. Carry out Attitude and Orbit Control System AOCS design, analyses and simulations control loops design and modelling, FDIR, independent simulator setup, functional verification and performance budgets. Review of AOCS software implementation. Selection and procurement support for sensors and actuators Support AIVAIT test benches, review of test plans and test results. Provide operations support review of Operations Manual, rehearsal and LEOP and inorbit analysis. Conceptualise, initiate and supervise corresponding enabling AOCS technology RD High Accuracy Pointing, Generic AOCS Architecture Building Blocks, Innovative AOCS FDIR Solutions including prototyping and tools development. Develop sensors and inertial actuators technology APS, Star Trackers, sun sensors, Earth sensors, magnetometers, gyros, accelerometers, magnetotorquers, reaction wheels, CMGs. Develop and use the Control Hardware Laboratory e.g. sensor characterisation and testing. Maintain, develop and setup AOCS simulation tools. Participate in the elaboration and promotion of ECSS standards in the E60 domain Qualifications Experience Masters, or equivalent, in Control and Aerospace engineering, or similar related discipline Previous experience in AOCS engineering within European industry Essential Skills AOCS Design, Validation and Testing, as well as AOCS hardware procurement. Exposure to full cycle of AOCS development from PhaseA to Phase E is an asset. HW knowledge sensors, computer, actuators. AOCS AIT at subsystem and system level. Proven knowledge of commercial modelbased design tools MATLAB.
