Engineer, IT Systems Virtualization United States Manassas, Virginia Your Job This position is responsible for the evaluation, design, analysis, implementation and documentation of Hardware and Software systems within SES and affiliated companies, as well as for taking the lead on IT projects within the organization and for the assigned customer related projects. The incumbent will also actively participate in defining the IT systems strategy IT infrastructure based on latest Microsoft technologies virtualization. This position can be located in Princeton, NJ Manassas, VA or Woodbine, MD. Your Responsibilities Design, specify, procure and implement IT Systems based on Windows Provide effective support on Virtualization platform VmWare, Citrix, Datacore Provide effective support on Storage environment NAS SAN Provide Active Directory management and administration Provide support on backup systems Provide input for future implementation based on deep analysis of solutions available in the market Be responsible for contractors working in the Microsoft support field Ensure maturity improvement and adherence ofto all IT service management processes, especially Change, Incident, Problem and Request Fulfilment Management Take the lead on Project Management from budget setup via procurement control to handover and documentation for the implementation of any required project using exist PMM Provide inputs to the Senior Manager, Global IT Systems, for administrative and management tasks, participate actively in team meetings Provide effective thirdlevel support provide support to internal and external customers for clarification of technical matters Provide general engineering support to other sections in the operational, engineering, sales and business development area Provide effective support to users upon request and deliver professional message and communications according to SES IT standards Provide necessary input for annual budgets in time Liaise with equipment suppliers and recommend cost effective solutions and ongoing maintenance arrangements Act as the interface between the executing party GSY and the internal and external customers Ensure full adherence to existing policies CoBIT, ITIL, Security and other IT related Focus on simplification and standardization Provide other engineering or project management tasks as assigned by the Senior Manager, Global IT Systems Stay uptodate with stateoftheart IT concepts and technologies virtualization concepts mainly Oncall duties will be required 247 on a rotational basis Your Competencies Ability to integrate into crossfunctional andor virtual project teams Good analytical and problemsolving skills ability to frame complex problems or business issues and can elaborate and articulate alternative solutions Process oriented with very good documentation skills Proactive approach towards potential andor current customers Ability to work independently with minimal supervision Ability to understand priorities and to proactively deliver results, even under tight deadlines Ability to overcome resistance to change Ability to learn new technologies quickly Ability to understand business requirements and all stakeholders in the service delivery process Your Profile Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Business Information Systems or equivalent Minimum seven years of applicable professional experience in a large heterogeneous environment Have proven experience on virtualization technologies VmWare Mandatory, Citrix, Datacore certification is an asset Sound technical understanding of SAN, cloud and backup technologies Good experience on Project Management Methodology as well as in IT Process Methodology ITIL, COBIT Proven experience in Windows environments and Systems Sound knowledge of Microsoft Active Directory certification is an asset Proven experience in AD management Proven experience in servers management, administration, troubleshooting and deployment preferably HPE, Dell Hardware Comfortable with all AD managements tools Varonis, Dell suite, Papercut Familiar with Software development solutions ideally Altiris Sound knowledge of Linux environments Good experience on documentation and use of all solutions in Microsoft Office Suite Vendor Certifications preferred Fluency in English, any other language is considered as an asset Willingness to travel internationally Whats in it for you?
