Europes prestigious Meteorological Satellite Organisation is seeking a Ground Systems Upgrade Verification and Validation Manager to join their international and multicultural team. This is a great opportunity to gain exposure to all of EUMETSATs space missions geostationary and low earth orbit working on their development and testing This is a challenging and rewarding role that offers variety for someone that has the ability to manage the overall Verification and Validation test phase for multimission elements of the EUMETSAT operational ground segment upgraded to fulfil the new missions needs. The key candidate shall functionally manage a team of engineers to verify hardware and software functions against agreed criteria. Along with a university degree, or equivalent, in Computer Sciences or Software System Engineering, the successful candidate shall have skillsexperience in each of the following areas Experience in ground segment development and system engineering Experience in Verification and Validation methodology as well as in requirements management Experience in testing and Verification of complex data processing systems Experience in generation of Verification and Validation documents Strengths in analysis, synthesis and presentation of information All applicants shall have good communication skills with the ability to work well within a team. A knowledgeunderstanding of data archive and retrieval, data distribution functions, ground systems monitoring or infrastructure functions would be considered advantageous. Consultancy Support on Systems Engineering and Tools

Job Description The Consultant will provide engineering support to the MTG system engineering team in the frame of the MTG Programme. Heshe will support system activities, performing tasks such as Support the process to elucidate the needs for engineering tools to support offline analysis of the MTG system outputs, through interactions with the scientific, instrument, operations and testing user communities, including analysis of challenging or unclear technical aspects Support the translation of scientific and other needs into tool specification and design information, and the regular refinement and maintenance of the engineering tools baseline, including up keeping of the corresponding Engineering Tool Register ETR Support the planning and scheduling of the engineering tool development and testing activities taking into account the user needs milestones Support the development programming and testing of the engineering tools, including their integration within the targeted offline framework also handling of problem reports, improvement requests and deliveries following the relevant MTG processes Support the promotion and induction of the engineering tools into the ETR user community training, handson sessions Contribute to the coordination with the using communities and to the reporting on the engineering toolset status Contribution to the maintenance of the technical budgets Participation in formal reviews and technical meetings Review of System, Space Segment and Ground Segment documentation dealing with requirements, concepts, algorithms and technical analyses of relevance for engineering tools, including review of analysis and calibration concepts defined by these groups. Requirements The Consultant shall have the following A University degree or equivalent, including experience in the engineering, physics, or software or similar domains Relevant experience in preparation of specification, design, interfaces and testing documentation for data analysis systems experience of Earth Observation missions is desirable but is not mandatory considering the systems engineering aspects of data analysis management and tools provision Relevant experience in implementation of analysis software script against specification design baselines. Integration, Verification Validation, including testing and formal acceptance The ability to maintain a system overview is essential. This ability shall be exercised within a multidisciplinary context in cooperation with other teams, e.g. covering several different data processing levels and instruments Ability to learn and develop the needed skills and knowledge to contribute to the development of MTG. This includes the ability to rapidly absorb, and make use of, information presented in written and oral communications in a dynamic context Systematic approach to work, including the ability to plan the work and to cope with tight schedules and multiple tasks Ability to write accurate and consistent technical documentation Fluency in English.

A vacancy for a Systems Engineer on very high throughput communication satellites mf has arisen within Airbus Defence Space in Toulouse. You will join the Telecom Systems department and will be part of the BroadbandBroadcast team where you will contribute to the preparation of new designs in the field of future high throughput satellite systems while being involved in the associated RD and engineering activities. As a system engineer, you will perform mission analyses in the field of high throughput satellite communications to derive system requirements allowing to define innovative architectures and assess their performances mainly capacity and availability through the use of simulation software. You will perform analyses from transmission, network and function management point of view, amongst others. You will be involved in ongoing studies. As needed by the projects or studies, you will be in charge of performing or coordinating the telecommunication system activities with the experts from other teams of the telecommunication BU payload, platform, etc. and external partners. You will be in charge of consolidating the system feasibility, assessing the solution performances and defining the specifications of its main building blocks. Likewise, you will be responsible for preparing the associated documentation and you will take part in technical reviews with the customer. Moreover, you will be in charge to business of the high throughput systems team by suggesting innovative subjects for future studies and contributing to the preparation of proposals in this field. Typical RD and innovation funding framework includes European studies for ESA ARTES, TRP, etc. and the European Commission Horizon 2020 as well as national studies for instance with CNES. As a result, you will participate in the negotiation phase of these proposals with the customer and partners. This position will require some business trips one to two days, once every two months within Europe, and, as such, you must be able to travel accordingly. As the successful candidate, you will be able to demonstrate the following competencies Masters degree in telecommunications, electronics or signal processing or equivalent, ideally including satellite systems. first experience in high throughput satellite communication systems engineering, in particular those systems implementing multibeam solutions satellite segment and grounduser segments, Knowledge in some or all of the following domains o Telecom system layers, especially on physical layer, o Signal processing and digital communications, o Link budget, satellite system analysis CNI, capacity, availability, o Transmission aspects including knowledge of DVBS2X and DVBRCS2 standards and their revisions.
