You will have the opportunity to provide software PA engineering support to the Software Product Assurance Section. Please note that the opportunity is a 1year contract with posibility to extend it and a parttime position. Specific Tasks Contribute to the establishing of the programmatic and technical software PA requirements within the framework of the ESA Software policy. Evaluate Contractors plans, technical specifications and efforts proposed for the execution of SW PA programme. Monitor and evaluate SW PA analyses, reports and technical notes. Participate to project reviews, meetings, Configuration Control Boards, Nonconformance Review Boards and Software Review Boards. Prepare design tradeoffs, analyses and reports using metrics to support project decisions. Participate to software product evaluations and process assessments. Establish and maintain databases to track NCRs, RFWs, action items etc. as required. Requirements The following skills and experience are mandatory Professional experience on SW engineering and quality assurance. Experience on ESA software engineering processes and standards is an asset. Experience in tools as JIRA, Sonar, Confluence, Jenkins, Git, Nexus, Maven is an asset. Experience in the development, operation and maintenance of ESA ground segment facilities and some scientific background is an asset. You are familiar with space product assurance practices together with a good working knowledge of appropriate working tools. You have practical experience in applying ECSS SW standards. Knowledge and proven experience in the following areas Configuration management of complex systems. Software engineering and PA in critical applications.

The Flight Software Team is responsible for all software on the SSTL satellite, from the safety task running on the on board computers, to the embedded software in SSTL equipments. Responsible For Management and leadership the Flight Software team. Key Tasks Work with Business Line Directors and Engineering teams to define Business Line Roadmaps capturing the future capabilitiesproducts the company will need in order to remain competitive in the global market, and the technology required to deliver them. Provide technical input and leadership to bid and proposal activities. Work with Project Managers, Heads of Engineering and other managers, to identify and resolve any resource conflicts or problems before they impact upon project progress. Ensure that the teams current and forward planning of workload is fully scoped and managed. Proactively resolve issues such as resource limitations, potential resource clashes and identify skill gaps for future recruitment activities.
