Position Reference 540 The principal task of the AIV engineering service team is to perform the AIV engineering activities foreseen for the integration, validation and verification of the MTG system, coordinated by the EUMETSAT Technical Officer. You will have the opportunity to provide engineering expertise to the AIV Engineering Service Team. Large part of the required test tools and data needed for the MTG AIV are covered by the tools procured within the Space Segment, and the data and tools developed in the framework of the MTG System Engineering activities, including the scientific data for testing the operational processors part of the Data Processing Chain. Therefore, this task mainly concerned the coordination with the relevant teams, for the request of the test data identified in the Test Specifications. However, the Test Preparation and Execution Team may identify the need for additional tools to generate adhoc test data or to analyse the test results generate new test data using the available tools generate new test data by reconditioningmodifying the available test data It is expected that, when needed, the key person shall be able to undertake the development or adaptation of required toolsdata and to keep them under configuration control. Tasks and Activities The scope of work will include Interaction with the MTG System Team for the procurement of test data identified in the Test Specifications, including the analysis of received deliverables and attending acceptance tests Identification and development of additional tools to generate adhoc test data or to analyse the test results Generation of test data using the available tools, but also by reconditioningmodifying the ones procured in coordination with the MTG system team Configuration Management of tools and test datasets Contribute to maintain the AIV schedule in coordination with the AIV engineering responsible Contribute to evolution of the VCD in coordination with the Requirements verification team Contribute, if needed, to the preparation of test procedure, including the automatic test procedures, and execution of tests in coordination with the Tests preparation and execution team Skills and Experience The following skills and experience are mandatory You have a University degree in the domain of engineering, physics, IT, or equivalent You have excellent knowledge and experience of higher programming languages such as Python, CC, Java, bash scripting You have experience with software specification, design and development, including relevant standards You have ideally some background in software development for Earth Observation system ground segments You have some experience in the analysis and reporting of verification results versus associated requirements You have experience with software specification, design and development, including relevant standards You have experience in use andor development of software frameworks, use of automating tools for system deployment, testing and configuration You have excellent interpersonal skills You have proven ability to synthesise complex issues You have proven ability to plan and implement activities, prioritising according to constraints, interdependencies and opportunities You have experience in writing formal technical documentation You are fluent in English speaking and writing How to Apply Looking to take your career to the next level? Responsibilities You will be assigned to the Flight Software Systems Section within the Directorate of Technology, Engineering and Quality. The sections activities cover the development of Software Validation Facility SVF components as well developing generic reference facilities. This includes processor emulators, simulation of spacecraft systems and spacecraft dynamics. The work includes supporting ESA projects on the design, test and validation of onboards software maintenance and support on software development toolsets and design, implementation and test tasks for the Sections technology programme. Within the Flight Software Systems Section support is provided to ESAs next large space mission the JUpiter Icy moons Explorer JUICE and in particular to the Radio Plasma and Wave Instrument RPWI which will characterize the radio emission and plasma environment of the Jupiter System. You will be colocated with the RPWI instrument team at the Swedish Institute of Space Physics in Uppsala, Sweden near Stockholm and will be in charge of the following initial tasks Development and validation of the software for the Radio Plasma and Wave Instrument RPWI of the ESA JUICE mission. Perform unit testing of the Instrument software. Generating and maintenance of the required software documentation. You should be able to function as part of the RPWI team.
