Additionally, the ideal candidate shall support the Exploration Scenario Section with following tasks Supporting the implementationassessment of ESA internal and industrial system definition studies at Phase A level, including associated technology studies, preparing future European activities and projects in the field of human spaceflight and exploration, addressing in particular future ISS related developments, the postISS scenario for utilisation of Low Earth Orbit and European contributions to human exploration missions beyond Low Earth orbit. Supporting the development and maintaining the ESA roadmap for future European human spaceflight and exploration activities, including an assessment of risks and life cycle costs in consultation with other ESA Directorates. Developing and maintaining keydriving requirements for future European development activities for human spaceflight and exploration at mission, architecture, system and technology level. Monitoring international plans in the field of human spaceflight and exploration and supporting the definition and analysis of future international human spaceflight mission scenarios and associated technology requirements. Supporting activities organized by HRE in the field of exploration workshop, round tables. etc. and establishingmaintaining HRE databases related to Exploration activities. Ideal candidate Applicants for this post should have a Masters degree or equivalent qualification in physics or engineering and at least 4 years of relevant experience. Additionally, the successful candidate should have the following skills and experience A knowledge of system engineering aspects is essential. Experience with operations, hardware and or software development will be an asset. The post requires candidates to be systemminded and to have a resultoriented approach. They should have the ability to work in a highly complex project environment. They should possess good communications skills and the capability of coordinating activities with groups spread across different sites. Knowledge of human spaceflight programmes. Strong analytical and system and strategic thinking skills. Work experience in international environment. Fluent in English knowledge of other member state language is an asset.
