As a kickoff to our 50th year of publication, which starts in September, BEEF editors want to recognize the important contributors to the beef industrys success of the past half-century. Thus, we plan to present our BEEF 50, a September issue commemoration of 50 top beef industry contributors. Leadership Changes At U.S. Premium Beef

Steve Hunt, president and chief executive officer of U.S. Premium Beef (USPB), will step down after 17 years in that position, reports the Kansas Livestock Associations News and Market Report. Hunt will assume an advisory role after Jan. 28. 2013. The USPB Board of Directors has named Stan Linville, previously the companys chief operating officer, as the new CEO. read more
