(Telecompaper) Telefonica has announced a major organisational restructure following a meeting of its board of directors. The company's 5-point plan to generate more than EUR 2 billion a year in additional revenues from 2022 onwards involves prioritising its four key markets of Spain, Brazil, Germany and the UK, carrying out an "operational spin-off" of its Latin American business and setting up a subsidiary for its cloud, cybersecurity and Internet of Things (IoT) businesses called Telefonica Tech and another for its infrastructure assets called Telefonica Infra.

International telecoms giant, Telefonica, has unveiled a 5-point plan to streamline its business operations and generate an additional €2 billion in new revenues by 2022. Telefonica and AT&T sign Mexico mobile access deal

(Telecompaper) Telefonica Mexico has announced an agreement to access AT&T's mobile infrastructure in Mexico with a view to improving the efficiency and quality of its network in the country on a long-term basis. The deal means Telefonica can immediately use AT&T's last-mile wireless equipment to gain capacity on AT&T's 3G and 4G network and any future access network technologies nationwide. Telefonica said it would maintain its transport network and all of its platforms, without operational or geographical restrictions, to meet the needs of Movistar users in the country.

(Telecompaper) Telefonica has announced the availability of voice-controlled Movistar Living Apps on its UHD TV set-top-box, confirming earlier reports. The proprietary and third-party apps developed under Movistar Living Apps run simultaneously through multiple devices such as the STB, router or 'Movistar Home' smart device and use the company's 'Aura' voice-activated assistant.
