Glycol prices have further surged in the last week in the Far East, over a low level in available quantities. PTA has been much more stable, by contrast. First nominations have been released by PX producers for their November ACPs. Our weekly report covers the polyester chain in Asia, including PX (paraxylene), PTA (purified terephthalic acid), MEG (mono-ethylene glycol), polyester chips, and polyester staple and filament prices. Viscose fiber prices have continued dropping in China, with viscose spun also retreating as a result. The raw material costs of viscose fiber producers are rising, by contrast.
