Viscose prices have begun slightly declining in China, back from holidays, after having surged for three full months. VSF prices have further risen in the last week in Pakistan, by contrast. Polyester staple fiber and filament yarns have bottomed out in China, over a rebound of demand, as usual in this part of the year. Our weekly report covers the Polyester Staple Fiber (PSF) and Polyester Filament Yarn (PFY) prices on the domestic market, including a price comparison of polyester staple fibers with cotton and viscose. The gross margin of polyester spun yarn producers is also released.

Polyester staple fiber prices have not moved in September in China, India and Pakistan, having actually stabilized for months. Gross margins have however risen in the last months at spinning mills. Our monthly report compares polyester staple fiber and polyester spun yarn prices in China, India and Pakistan, in both local currency terms and US$ terms. Polyester chain prices are slightly rising this Monday in China, back from the National Day holidays. The rebound of crude oil prices has stimulated the petrochemical markets. Our weekly report covers the polyester chain in Asia, including PX (paraxylene), PTA (purified terephthalic acid), MEG (mono-ethylene glycol), polyester chips, and polyester staple and filament prices. Asian Contract Prices (ACPs) are also available for the PX, PTA and MEG markets in Asia, with 5-year charts and downloadable historical data.
