EUMETSAT is now embarking on new and challenging satellite development programmes, shaping its longterm future. EPSSG Data Processing Systems Procurement Manager REF. VN1412 In this role, you will be responsible for the overall management of activities relating to Payload Data Processing Systems for Low Earth Orbit missions during development within the Ground Segment. During the EPSSG Ground Segment GS development phase, you will manage the engineering definition of the Payload Data Processing component, industrial activities associated with the procurement and development of the component and all the related activities leading to the integration, verification and validation. Following handover to operations, you will be involved in postdelivery support activities in particular during the operational validation of the EPSSG Ground Segment and later on during the satellites and overall system commissioning activities. To join us, you will require a degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or a related discipline, plus practical experience of meteorological, earth observation or remote sensing nearrealtime, highly available, instrumentrelated data processing systems. In particular, you should be skilled in specifying, designing, implementing, integrating and testing Payload Data Processing Systems, leading teams, and adhering to ISO, CCSDS and ECSS standards. Finally, awareness of meteorological data formats such as NetCdf, HDF and BUFR plus compression algorithms would be a major advantage, and you should combine excellent interpersonal and problem solving skills with fluency in English and a knowledge of French. Together with a degree in Software, Space or System Engineering or a similar discipline, you will bring a proven track record in satellite and mission operation systems for polar andor geostationary applications. Your expertise should span specification, design, implementation, integration and testing across the full ground segment lifecycle, and you will be well versed in applying formal methodologies, standards and processes. Needless to say, you should possess excellent interpersonal, communication and presentation skills, a very analytical mindset and the ability to lead teams. Our data contribute to weather forecasts that protect lives and property across Europe and to monitoring of our changing climate. MultiMission Elements MME Systems Upgrade Project Manager REF. VN1401 Strengthening our System Engineering and Projects Division, you will manage upgrades of our MultiMission ground systems. These MultiMission Elements, composed of software, hardware and tools, are implementing key services to our users, like data distribution, archiving and retrieval, but also ground monitoring and infrastructure. These functions are essential to our operational programmes and are reused and upgraded for our future missions. To this end, you will lead projects from architectural design phase through to the entry into operations, interact with several teams and control budgets, plans and schedules. At the same time, you will contribute to the generation of the Ground Segment requirements and to the definition of the Ground Segment architecture for aspects related to the MultiMission Elements. You will therefore need a strong blend of technical, organisational and, in particular, management skills. Qualified to degree level in Computer Science or Software Engineering, you should possess extensive experience in project management of ground segment elements development, preferably in the field of GEOLEO earth observation systems. This should be coupled with a solid technical background in hardware and software aspects, proven leadership ability and ideally familiarity with the full system engineering lifecycle, spanning design, production, integration, verification and validation. Finally, you will preferably be knowledgeable regarding Data Services used for remote sensing applications and will certainly be capable of working effectively in English, with a working knowledge of French.
