The job holder will manage System and Ground Segment engineering and development activities led by the Agency in its role of EGNSS Exploitation Manager EGNOS and Galileo and in the frame of the GOVSATCOM Programme. Depending on hisher assignment, the Systems Manager of the Systems in Operations will report to the respective Head of Department. TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES The jobholder will have the following main tasks and responsibilities Manage the system and segment infrastructure evolutions activities Coordinate the specification and development follow up of improvements to the system in operations implemented by industrial contracts Lead the system engineering processes for managing requirements through the lifecycle of the system and ground segments Coordinate the technical analysis of the specifications and design the major evolutions of the system and ground segments, in order to verify coherence and compatibility with the system in exploitation, and identify impacts on baseline technical documentation Coordinate the definition of an overall system Integration and Verification IV Programme, ensuring consistency between system and segments verification but also between verification and validation activities Manage the establishment of system upgrades deploymentmigration plan, consistent with service continuity needs Monitor the qualification status, and follow up on anomalies resolution through the implementation of Work Arounds, fast fixes and midtermlongterm corrections Maintain the qualification status, assessing any changes with respect to the impact on system qualification Verify that the system upgrades are under configuration control prior to the handover to the operations team Coordinate the Agency contribution to the development of the Galileo Second Generation from the system and infrastructure point of view, performed by the European Space Agency Represent the Agency in the relevant boards as necessary including but not limited to Change Control Boards, Qualification Review Board, Acceptance Review Board Liaise with other internal stakeholders, as well as with external partners such as the European Commission, the European Space Agency, the Service Operator, the Products manufacturers and maintainers Support the Agency management as needed and take on additional tasks as required in the interest of the service. The position is situated in Prague, Czech Republic with regular missions within Europe and possible detachment to other Agency sites. In parallel, EUMETSAT is working towards the launch of the next generation of Meteosat Third Generation and Metop Second Generation satellites. Reporting to the Head of the Realtime Services System Operations RSO Division and supported by a dedicated team of engineers, the Data Access Systems Operations Manager coordinates the routine operations of the EUMETSAT Near Real Time NRT data access systems, and assists with operations preparation activities related to future data access systems. This role is rooted in the mission of EUMETSAT and will provide the opportunity to work with leading IT, Space and Earth Observation organisations and domain experts to make a positive impact on society! Duties Manage a team of operations engineers and service contracts, ensuring efficient and effective use of team resources, including allocation delegation of tasks Conduct the routine operations of the Data Access systems ensuring the operational services availability as specified in the Operational Service Specifications Operational management, scheduling and coordination of the Operational Data Access systems Monitoring of delivered service performance levels Responsibility for the evolution of the Multichannel NRT data access baseline Technical management of the EUMETCast Service Contracts Focal point for all technical interactions with the service providers Followup of any anomalies or incidents with the service providers Develop the transition plans for the introduction of new contracts as appropriate Plan for the evolution of the system to accommodate new requirements.
