Description of the job The Future Projects and Proposals department in Stevenage is responsible for all mission and system proposals and studies. It also provides key resources including proposal managers to major proposals for implementation projects. This is a key position for an experienced study managersystems engineer to work in this team contributing to high profile proposal and study activities. The study managersystems engineer will coordinate and produce the proposals and manage major studies and technology development activities. As study managersystems engineer responsible for securing new business and working on a variety of projects with values up to several million . This role offers the opportunity to gain or enhance your Project Management experience. This role will require occasional travel to Europe. Tasks accountabilities Delivery of compliant, professionally produced proposalsstudy data packs within customer defined timeframes, focusing on trial deliveries for the customer Management of the proposalstudy teams Delivery of proposalsstudies within agreed budgets Coordination of standard company proposalstudy reviews Interface with a variety of stakeholders, including senior ENS management, sales and marketing, engineering teams, cost engineering, finance, and commercial. Ground Stations System Engineer

Position Reference 153 You will provide your engineering expertise to the Ground Stations engineering related activities of the future ground segment mainly EPSSG, MTG and JasonCS. You will also provide engineering support to the existing MSG and EPS programmes. You will contribute to the activities of ground segment developments in the areas of Ground Stations, RF and Telecommunications. Tasks and Activities The scope of work will include Contribute to the follow up of the detailed design and development activities of Phase BCD of the future ground segments in the areas of Ground Stations, RF and Telecommunications mainly for supporting EPS SG and JasonCS activities Contribute to the MTG MDAF and TTCF Warranty and Maintenance phases in the areas of Telecommunications, RF and Ground Stations, Contribute to the maintenance and evolution in phase E to the other programmes within EUMETSAT MSG, EPS, Jason... in the areas of Telecommunications, RF and Ground Stations. Skills and Experience The following skills and experience are mandatory You have an university degree or equivalent in an engineering discipline relevant to the profile together with the experience and capability to fulfil the assigned tasks. You have, as a prerequisite, a demonstrated experience in a similar function for at least 2 years in the following Ground stations system and subsystem design and development for TTC TTC baseband equipment and SLE compliant implementations Technical background in the specification and VV of ground stations and large antennas and tracking systems for GEO and LEO satellites Knowledge of modulationdemodulation schemes applied by Ground to Space ICD for TTC and payload data transmission e.g. ECSS and CCSDS Standards. You are fluent in English. The following skills would be highly desirable You have competence and experience in the engineering processes for managing requirements from the definition phase through the traceability, verification, validation and maintenance stages using formal methods and tools e.g. DOORs You possess system experience with Link budget analysis and tools in S, X and Ka Band. You have knowledge of standard RF and microwave tools and SW package for generation of signal processing related simulations andor semiautomated measurement procedures. Description of the job We are looking for several Digital Processor System Engineers to join the Communication Processors Group based in Stevenage. The Processor Systems team is at the forefront of the development of digital signal processing payloads for telecommunications satellites, with work undertaken for a range of UK and international customers on a variety of exciting space projects. The responsibility of the group covers research and development of new digital processor products, manufacture and test of flight electronic equipment through to inorbit operational support. Our products form the heart of modern telecommunications satellite payloads, handling many thousands of channels and required to operate continuously and reliably, for many years, in the harsh environment of space. The main focus of the work undertaken by the team is the development of advanced communications and scientific satellite payloads employing state of the art digital processing techniques. Currently we are developing our 5th processor generation using new technologies to boost our capability at least tenfold. To achieve this we work closely with hardware engineers, ASIC FPGA designers, systems engineers and test engineers. Tasks accountabilities In this role, you will have the opportunity to get involved in all phases from early concept through to delivering hardware and providing operational support. Key activities will include Concept feasibility and generation of new ideas. Development of digital processor architectural design and specification, flowing down from customer requirements. Digital signal processing algorithm design, simulation and analysis. Laboratory prototyping and testing of new processor designs. Supporting customer reviews This job requires an awareness of any potential compliance risks and a commitment to act with integrity, as the foundation for the Companys success, reputation and sustainable growth. Required skills Essential attributes At minimum, a 21 degree or equivalent qualification in Physics, Mathematics, Electronic Engineering, Computer Science or related subject. Excellent analytical and problem solving skills. Good written and verbal communication skills. Ability to contribute to a large, multidisciplinary project team. Desirable attributes Strong software skills, e.g. C, C are highly desirable. Knowledge of Digital Signal Processing algorithm design and simulation, e.g. using MATLAB. An awareness of FPGA design..
