Elisa, Nokia reach 1 Gbps in test of 5G fixed wireless network

(Telecompaper) Elisa said that it and Nokia achieved a data transfer speed of approximately 1 Gbps on Nokia's 5G test network in Espoo on 08 November. In the fixed wireless broadband demonstration, a virtual reality (VR) headset was used to watch a concert by the metal band Amorphis filmed with a VR camera. Under the system, a 5G radio signal is transmitted from a base station that is connected to the optical fibre network and located on a mast, or on the roof of a building.
