About The Role The Project Management Group of the Space Engineering and Technology Division has a growing number of ongoing and new projects which require Project Management support. This portfolio of projects covers a wide range of applications including Spacecraft Instrumentation, Space Physics, Earth Observation and Calibration Sources. We now have a new opportunity for an experienced and talented Project Manager to work on Space hardware projects at all stages of implementation from the proposal right through to inflight commissioning and calibration. Responsibilities will include managing projects andor significant work packages reporting to customers on all aspects your projects using written reports, Gantt charts and presentations managing multidisciplinary teams to produce project deliverables leading a team of specialists preparing proposals for future lines of work reporting project finance and schedule to senior management providing advice and training on project management matters to junior members of staff regular liaison with external customers a variety of space engineering and scientific support staff. About You You will be educated to degree level in a STEM discipline or demonstrate significant equivalent experience. You will also hold a recognised project management qualification. You will have substantial project management experience, ideally including aerospace experience, with proven ability to manage projects within strict financial and schedule constraints. You will have experience of proposal writing and making recommendations to collaborators and subject matter experts. You will have proven leadership experience, with experience of space science, space andor systems engineering, desirable. You will demonstrate excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to negotiate and influence others. You will be highly organised with good time management skills. The Research, Technology Development and Innovation RTDI Project Officer assists the RTDI Project Manager and is in charge of the following tasksduties To support from a technical and scientific point of view the implementation of RTDI activities mainly in the framework of RI projects related to Earth Observation To support the design and development of tools and services related to the management and exploitation of Big Geospatial Data in the Space and Security domain To support the execution of RI projects and initiatives including writing of proposals, deliverables and reports as well as liaising with partners when required To support the establishment and implementation of use cases, user scenarios, demo and pilot services To perform any other duties assigned by the RTDI Project Manager or by the Head of Capability Development Division.
