Your Tasks Establish of functional and design requirements based on system needs. Supervise onboard functionalities with respect to command, control, and housekeeping, formatting, encoding, compression, processing, and data transfer Tradeoff data handling architectures and design implementations, taking into account possible reuse of available hardware and software Ensure and monitor compliance between data protocol and interface specifications on subcontractor and customer level Establish engineering budgets for TMTC and ICDs demonstrating that the DHS provides the required level of observability, commandability, and data management Define and ensure the verification approach for the DHS equipment, and for the overall DHS at subsystem including required hardware software compatibility tests in an operationally representative environment, and to generate the respective documentation Tailoring and application of PUS Service Libraries. Telespazio VEGA Deutschland has been supporting the European Space Industry for over 30 years, including ESA, DLR, EUMETSAT and CNES. This is an opportunity for an experienced Engineer to compliment the GALILEO ESOC Flight Control Team, with primary areas of responsibility for Data Handling and OnBoard Software. The successful candidate will report to the ESOC Galileo Spacecraft Operations Manager. The Galileo LEOP operations preparation and execution will be carried out by a Flight Control Team comprising CNES and ESOC engineers. The plan is for LEOPs to take place either at ESOC Darmstadt or CNES Toulouse, with the complete team involved in each LEOP preparation and partial team taking part in the LEOP at each site. The working language across the team is English. The engineer will support and closely cooperate with the SOM during the prelaunch operations preparation, ops products validation and the LEOP execution phases of Galileo IOC missions. The position is to 100 based on customer side in ESOC DarmstadtGermany. Earliest starting date for this position will be 1st of November 2014 latest 1st of January 2015. Submission deadline for applicants is 16th of October 2014. ResponsibilitiesDuties Data Handling, TTC, onboard software and OBSM operations engineer Close interaction and working with the other Galileo LEOP SOEs, based at ESOC and CNES Review of documentation produced by the Galileo spacecraft manufacturer SSEG Review of the procedures created by SSEG Review of the procedures created by OPS Development of LEOP specific nominal and contingency recovery operating procedures using the MOIS tools Providing specialist subsystem advice on the development and content of the Operational Database Development of tools to manage the Data Handling and TTC subsystems during LEOP in particular ANDs, GRDs, mimics and offline tools Validation of procedures using the Galileo Constellation Simulator CSIM and the Galileo LEOP specific SCOS2000 based control system LSCCF Preparation for and participation in the SCTCs SVTs. This will also involve the preparation of SCTC specific procedures and the writing of SCTC reports Identification, recording, investigation and progression of spacecraft and groundbased anomalies during the SCTCs, simulations campaign and LEOP Preparation for and participation in the simulations campaign Assistance to the simulations officer to provided specialist subsystem knowledge for the simulations campaign Participation in the LEOP.
