Snr System Hardware Engineer International Space projects

A Senior Hardware Integration Engineer is required to work on CGIs Space and Defence projects. Please note that previous experience within Space or MOD projects is only desirable rather than essential. The initial role is expected to be on the Galileo satellite navigation project for the European Space Agency. For this, CGI is developing the ground station systems that oversee Galileo security and that control interaction with the 30 satellites, control the distribution of navigation data to the satellites and ground equipment, and that control access to the public regulated service by authorised bodies throughout the EU. CGI is developing bespoke software, procuring hardware specialist cryptographic equipment and COTS equipment and assembling the systems in racks at our Leatherhead site in the UK. The racks are then deployed to several sites within the EU for operational use. The system design is classified and role require s the handling of classified material. Experience Qualifications Required Skills Experience of system hardware specification and design Engineering drawing sets BS8888BS308 or DEF STAN 0510 Racking diagrams Wiringconnection schedules Network designimplementation Appreciation of and handson experience of the hardware servers, switches, firewalls, etc. Familiarity with COTS hardware including servers, workstations and infrastructure components such as firewall and switches Familiarity with equipment rack wiring practices Working knowledge of European electrical safety and EMC regulations including Safety in Design EN60950 Prepared to travel and work overseas in the EU for occasional short periods, e.g. 1 week SC cleared or capable of obtaining this level of clearance Good communication skills and the ability to interact well with colleagues an d client staff Desirable Skills Experience of hardware fault diagnosis and maintenance Understanding of system security issues Working knowledge of OS level Windows server and workstation TEMPEST protection principles Experience of hardware shipment and export practices Familiarity with asset management processes Space project experience, especially for the European Space Agency MOD project experience APPLY HERE

NASA's Space Launch System, the USA's first exploration-class spacecraft since the Space Shuttle, has officially passed the whiteboard formulation stage and moved into full-scale development. The SLS, which will be the most powerful rocket ever built, will allow NASA to land astronauts on Mars and captured asteroids, and perhaps other planets and moons throughout the Solar System as well.

Client and Location ATG is currently looking for a Satellite Power System Architect, to be deployed at our customers location in Bremen, Germany. Our client is one of the top players in the European space technology industry, offering solutions for complete satellites, scientific payloads and structures. The company is currently working on major European satellite development and manufacturing programs and is looking for support within the Electrical Systems department. Tasks and Responsibilities Architect for the concept, detailed design, trades, analyses, and final definition of the electrical power system EPS and its units for project specific satellite applications consisting of solar arrays, batteries, PCDU, and SADMSADE Consultancy, support, and review of predevelopment proposals phase AB Specification of the system and units all phases Management and supervision of the EPS subcontractors for all project phases from RFIproposal stage up to final deliverylaunch Definition of the project specific SOW for EPS subcontractors Technical responsible for the subcontractor selection process Management of the project EPS team activities and resources Leading EPS level and unit level reviews Creation of system level justification documentation analyses, reports and design descriptions Management and control the interfaces with other satellite subsystems e.g. pin2pin, eICD, SRDB Point of contact for the customer and subcontractor EPS counterparts including negotiations, reviews Support, management and control of the EPS VV activities Definition and documentation of unit, system and satellitelevel tests Support to satellite projects from start to customer acceptance. Required Skills and Education A degree in engineering with a major in electrical, or space engineering, or comparable qualifications Minimum of 8 years of working experience, preferably with electrical systems or components Working, uptodate knowledge of electrical power system design for satellites Understanding of the interdependencies within the system and with the other satellite subsystems Capable of taking on the responsibility for multimillion euro contracts Excellent communication skills, flexibility and ability to work and take decisions independently Excellent presentation and negotiation skills Authority figure, capable of leading a small engineering team and represent the teams work to the customer Fluency in spoken and written English, German is considered a plus.
